2 yr old itchy eyes

2-1/2 year old grandson in perfect health, but always rubbing eyes, for at least 5 months. Eyes are not red, oozing, runny nose, cough or any other allergy symptom. Pediatrician prescribed Patanol, once at night, which seems to help next day, but hate the idea of using meds all the time if it's a condition that can be treated other ways.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The best bet here is
A - Pulsatilla

aplicable if the child is fair/blonde and has had ear problems at times , also does not like rich fatty foods.

B - Sulfur
use if hot feet in bed , quick temper , not like breakfast and has bowel motion soon after waking.

If the remedies prescribed above do not help, please post again for another remedy that I have used extensively for styes which although your grandson is not suffering from right now, may still be the reason for his irritation.
