mag phos for gerd???

Someone wrote that Mag Phos can be taken together with Nat Phos for GERD.

The Nat Phos alone is not working for me.

Do I take a full dose of each after every meal, or what?

Thank you very much.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
if you describe your symptoms in detail, we could probably prescribe a suitable remedy.

-heartburn or not
- sour eructation or not
- when r u worst
- bloating of stomach or not
- gas passes upwards or downwards as well
- mental feelings
- hunger, thirst, stool etc.

Thank you very much, rishimba.

I have suffered from GERD since menopause struck very early (38...I am 46 now and post-menopausal).

I have been on Protonix for 2 years. I want desperately to be able to stop taking this drug. First, I question its long-term effects on my body in general. It is not natural to take such medications as I see it. Second, it is terribly expensive ($5 PER PILL), and I do not have health insurance.

I have been trying Nat Phos (6X) for a while, but has really not helped as yet. I am currently using some over-the-counter Zantac twice per day. It doesn't work as well and causes me abdominal pains, but it is much less expensive than Protonix by prescription! But I do not want to be putting ANY conventional medicine into my body if it can be helped. The miracle of homeopathy is wonderful, but I cannot seem to find the 'right' remedy.

The symptoms are pain and tightening and burning in the throat...the feeling of being choked. Coughing, (dry cough), heartburn, all of this is constant and severe if no medication is used. Very bad if lying down, of course.

Any food causes it to worsen (some foods would be worse than others but I've given those up...they would include chocolate, coffee, etc.)

Yes, I used to have very much bloating of stomach. Less now with the medication.

Gas can pass up and down.

Mental feelings = somewhat anxious, low patience/tolerance as with high stress.

Stool usually normal, solid, brown.

Appetite is good IF I medicate the condition. Without medication, I lose my appetite and have difficulty eating anything at all due to the pain of GERD.

I am rarely thirsty. I make kidney stones as well, and do not tend to hydrate well at all. I try, but my body has VERY poor water balance. If I drink water it goes right through me, clear. Again, I am almost never thirsty, unless I happen to have consumed something very salty, but this is very rare.

Thank you for any guidance you may have to share. I appreciate your attempt to help me. I so desperate want to stop taking any medication and heal myself with homeopathy.

To Kwanyin

Regret tonote that you intend going back to Zantac which is a slow acting poison that will surely get you.

You state that you have used Nat Phos 6x. How many tablets did you use and what was the dosage you used ?

4 tablets after meals as you instructed me, the final dose before bed

I have the nearly empty bottle right here beside me to prove that I gave it a good trial.

I do not WANT to be on Zantac and I understand your point about it being poison, however I also do not want this GERD to remain untreated adequately which leads to esophageal cancer, something I do not want to deal with EVER.

Thank you, Sir.

It is not impossible that the bottle of Nat Phos which you have not confirmed as 6x may have been off spec.

Suggest you get another bottle of another brand and use it and comment. It is very rarely that it does not help but I have had a case like yours which responded immediately to a new brand.
