Hard lump on my chin - Acne?

Hi

I have recently come out with large lumps under the skin on my chin and forehead.

The occurence of these lumps corresponds with coming off the contraceptive pill which my doctor says must have upset my hormone balance. The doctor thinks the lumps are acne.

I am now back on the pill (dianette now) and, to date, I have been prescribed numerous antibiotics. Unfortunately, the combiniation of antibiotics caused me to contract clostridium difficile and caused a flare up in my crohns.

After recently consulting a gastroenterologist and dermatologist I am currently on lymecillin.

Most of the lumps undermy skin have gone. However, there is one hard purplish lump on the right hand side of my chin whcih will not go away. Previously this was like an abscess which leaked all the time. However, now the lump is actually hard and fibruos with what appears to be a small deep hole in it whcih a yello clear fluid comes out of if pressed or squeezed. It is not sore.

Is this lump acne? If so, is there any remedy available. I am really frightened that more antibiotics will affect my colitis again. It also looks really ugly and I cannot believe I have acne at the age of 25!

Thanks for listening.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
try cleaning gently each day with some witchhazel lotion and then put aloe vera on it.
It could be a sebaceous cyst and rhus tox may help - look up this remedy. there are other remedies which may be more suitable if this does not seem indicated.
rhus-tox can probably be obtained in an ointment form.

The clear yellow fluid indicates there is still an infection present so as Erika says, use a witch hazel or tea tree solution and clean it out, keep clean and dry - tea tree is great , deep anti-bacterial, try get in a gel.
Don't touch it and let it heal.

The fact that it leaked all the time and slow to heal indicates calc sulph and silicea. However i would do the above first and see if cleaning the infection topically does the trick first.

After your antibiotic course - wd urge to you get some acidophilus / probiotcs into yr system for 3 months- v. necessary post antibiotics and for yr Crohns. Also consider soaking linseeds and taking 3 tablespoons with liquid per day. Monitor your yeast/sugar intake also after the antibiotics ...candida etc.

Let us know how you get on.
