Severe aggravation on Zinc Met 10M

I am a homoepath in New Zealand, and have a patient who was unfortunately prescribed Zincum Metallicum 10M, for a R sided pterigium by a well known homeopath (which has quite surprised me, as her reputation is ok generally).
The patient was under her care for 8yrs, and is one of those 'sensitive' patients, who has always responded to lower potencies.
To negate the bad effects, she has received all manner of remedies from several homeopaths, all to no avail. Anacardium, Ignatia, Calc, etc, Coffea, Camphor, etc, etc.
This poor patient came to me last week with : - Violent R sided shaking, twitching particularly the leg, arm & whole body as well. Has poor memory, words back to front, vision blurred, and nauseous last week.

Somebody out there may have some suggestions, as to how to negate the effects of Zinc Metallicum 10M.
This patient never had any problem all of her 38yrs, as far as musculoskeletal/neurological - until the administration of the Zinc Met 10M.
This lady has children, has quit her job and her whole life is going down the drain, I would like to offer help.

Any suggestions?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dear NZ Hom.

You say you are a Homoeopath, so be one, and antidote the remedy! all antidotes are listed in the back of Kent's rep. There is only one Zinc antidote she has not taken, and this is Hepar Sulph, so apply this low and wait for a reaction. If she is still suffering after the application of this remedy, then it is not Zinc Met which is causing the problems.

Thanks Jacob,
She is coming to see me this afternoon. I will give Hep Sulph 6 liq. and see what comes of it, I read with interest in Vermeulen's Concordant Mat Med., that Hep interestingly antidotes many metals.
Thanks for your prompt response.

Dear Eric, you're welcome, although personally I would stick to decimals when antidoting, unless all you have is a Centesimal.

Re: the work you name above, Hep does indeed antidote many metals, but personally the only antidote list I would trust is Kent's, as it was he who did most of the pioneering work in this area.

Best wishes, and good luck!

Dear Jacob

If this point goes to side-effects of prescription post that will be good I think. What do you think?

Thanks Jacob,

I have taken your advice, and recommended the patient take Hep 6x. once daily, and monitos the outcome. Interesting, Kent notes in his Lectures on Mat Med (under Hep Sulph) that he would 'rather be in a room of negroes with razors, than in the hands of a reckless high-potency prescriber'.
I'll let you know the outcome of the above case.
Thanks again for your advice,
Eric

Actually Eric Zinc classifies itself under hypersensitiveness.

Most of the time it should be started low as jacob does usually in his prescription.

Also the patient must be forewarned about the reaction that may come of the body's defence before administering this remedy.

I would like to share a humorous story which Kent devised of zinc. He has suggested that Homeopath should visit a Zinc patient who has paralysis, very fast on horseback and then also return equally as fast after giving the treatment. The reason for this is that since Zinc provokes an immediate brisk tingling response so swiftly that the relatives of the patient might think that the doctor has poisoned the patient and rush to attack the doctor. After this abrupt tingling, the nerves begin to recover and the paralysis disappear. Then the relatives will thank the doctor. So if Zinc was indicated, the severe nervous response is the first sign of the cure to follow.

Dear Eric.
Haha, a nice little quote there, it's amazing how times change ;), but on this I would very much agree. I would say around 30% of all my cases are those in which I have had to clear up another 'Homoeopaths' mess. 6x is perfect, but it only needs to be applied once. To antidote a remedy only one or sometimes two doses are ever needed, and they should not really be taken daily, as they are not strictly indicated by virtue of their specific symptoms, only by their similarity to the symptoms of the remedy in question, and with repeated dosing you run the risk of a proving.

Best wishes, and do let me know the outcome ;)

Dear Maheeru, this is of course up to Eric if he wants to become involved in this other thread, but ya, it would serve to give yet another case of bad prescribing.
