alfalfa tonic and lupus

July;My wife, 34,developed mild swelling in left leg. It became more prominent when seated for long hours. A sensation also began to happen in the leg at the time of swelling. It became less once acetaone was given alongwith antibiotics and asprin and by sleeping with legs slightly raised.
August:I bought alfalfa tonic from a practioner and my wife (34) consumed 60 ml of it, irregulalry, over two weeks.
September:August end saw severe pain in left wrist joint which disappeared in two days and started in right wrist joint and then in shoulders. She developed pinkish rashes , slightky raised from tghe skin on her upper limbs and then arms and then trunk. these often came in turns, like first legs then arms then trunk, sometimes disappearing from one place or sometimes appearing together. It carried on with mild fever for 25 days. In between, she developed infedction in left lung-she felt coughing while breathing deeply. On Sept 25 she was put on steroids-it showed miraculous improvement in her. On 29 th, she was hospitalised when TLC count raised to 37000 and fever to 102 degree F. Although fever vanished within hours but she was put on heavy antibiotics.
Her ESR level remained between 85 and 131.
She is generally anaemic (H-9)

LUPUS:tests show positive ANA and it is considered borderline case of lupus. Steroids are being gradually reduced and antibiotics stopped.

QUERY:Now I learn that Alfalfa triggers lupus disease. Is it likely that Alfalfa tonic triggered this in her case?
If yes, is there any antidote that can take care of this problem?
Is there any other remedy suggested?

Alfalafa...will only trigger something that is lying dormant in the body...called aggravation.

If it is so...it is a good sign..as it is a step towards cure.

However...need more info on the case.

Can you post complete medical history from childhood till now ??

Don't try to 'kill' the flareup with steroids. It is like 'brooming the house and hiding the dirt under the carpet.'

Will only reverse the cure process.

Meanwhile, can apply Calendula cream externally.

Dear Lupus India,
I am sad to know about your wife's problem. She is suffering from certain autoimmune disorder where body's immune system starts attacking itself. This is a very weird disease which affects more women then men in different forms. What I can understand is that she might be suffering from either mild SLE or Still's disease. The only treatment is to put her on steroids and antibiotics will not help. Steroids have side affects and if flareup occurs on reducing the dose, you may have to add sterioid sparing medicines.
Since nobody has cared to give any suggestion on medication here, it shows that homeopathy can not cure her. Rather it can be dangerous to use homeopathy alongwith steroids. Please try meditation alongwith an d take cod liver oil. In allopathy, doctors still know how things will shape up and take certain responsibility. Homeopathy is so confusing and lacks accountability.
