The ABC Homeopathy Forum

How could we have a truce?

Well, I'm glad things seem to have calmed down a little.

In order to make the truce last, what would be required? The only option put forward so far has been that x, y and z should be banned.

To any newcomers to the site, I'm sorry about the mud slinging; our members are a passionate bunch.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Simon, the answer seems easy. YOU are the moderator. Any personal attacks or offensive comments should be erased immediately by you. Please just start there. This anemosity could have been avoided and needs to stop soon before it gets any further.

Godd luck.

That seems like a big burden on the moderator... an alternative would be to give one warning for a 'personal' attack, then ban the repeat offender. (first give notice of new policy). otherwise, its too much work.

Even the best contributors on here have made offensive comments. What would you do, ban them as well? At that rate, heck Id be prescribing remedies and believe me you dont need it to come down to that.

It may be a fair amount of work at the beginning but once people realize theres no audience for their games, they will cease to play them.
Just my thoughts.

There have now been personal comments from both sides, as we are only human and we defend ourselves, but agreed, this can't go on for the sake of the patients and of your forum.

All we are asking now, or at least I am, is that in your 'introductions' thread, patients are made aware of the fact that the classical method, which you have detailed quite nicely, is that which was used by the founding father of Homoeopathy himself, Samuel Hahnemann, and that giving more than one remedy at a time, or the same remedy/potency for months on end, or indeed prescribing based on only a few symptoms, is in direct opposition to his methods. Then those seeking help, can make up their own minds...

Right guys?

A warning that personal comments will not be tolerated, is a must.

Most of the offending comments are made,at the heat of the moment, and the poster himself regrets it later.

Delete and edit buttons ,which is a standard feature on all forums now a days, will make the poster, to make amends himself, after a short time.

Dear Simon,

I think it should be included in the rules of this forum that people cannot make personal attacks. They need to confine their comments to the statements made by other people and that too based on logic. They can't make personally derogatory remarks. In case, someone violates this repeatedly, a warning could be issued to him.And if the person concerned does not listen, then after two or three warnings, he should be banned.

Things escalate after these personal remarks are made, as the counterparty also starts to make personal attacks. It is a vicious cycle.I can't see of any other way to ensure that normalcy is restored on your forum.

This is the reply given to Pankaj Narang ! :

Hi Pankajnarang

I explained many times that what is good for Joe need not be good for Pankajnarang.

You have very limited exposure to homeopathy, and don't try to discuss with half baked knowledge.

My discussions with Pankaj and Kuldeep are on a different level altogether.

I respect their knowledge, but differ on certain aspects.

Those discussions are for mutual benefit, and for the benefit of the patients in general.

Don't equate yourself with them or me.

you are a kid, and behave like a kid.

Murthy

Do you think the last line is the work of a mature mind !!

Will it attract people to this site or ensure that they remain away ??

Simon...you have to block such stuff....other wise...people will react again and tempretures will go up gain.

Besides...no one has the right to appoint himself as the 'Policeman' of ABC.

Only a person who has common acceptance can be appointed...if required. And he will cease to be a 'poster' then.

Otherwise...Moderator is there for it.

So everyone agrees that personal attacks must not be tolerated. As many of the offenders have agreed on that, I'm presuming we won't hear any more if it.

If anyone does attack anyone personaly. Don't rise to it, let moderator know.

Comments like

You are a manipulator,

You are a twister

You are a so and so..too should not be tolerated.

As agreed best thing is to report such issues to moderator, and get those remarks removed.

Even if 'X' makes such a comment, 'Y' should ignore it, and report to the moderator.

Hello Simon

Now you got yourself a Cheif Executive too.

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Kuldeep/girilal and now Chief Executive they all are same.

Since innovation and experience is not needed here but a book and a reportery (dictionary) so kuldeep/girilal is not needed here.

Roles has changed so kuldeep/girilal rehires himself here as CEO at the Circus.

Our General Manager, (who is going to about all posts (50-60 a day) and working very hard like an Insurance-Sales man) is relieved of some work.

So new scene, new roles.

You can delete kuldeep/girilal names, BUT they may come back when virus cycle is over (as Dr deoshlok Sharma has stated).
