I am 28years old and have been suffering form chronic
asthma for 18 years now
i have tried many types of medication e.g
herbal
homeopathic
inhalers,predinoslone and anti-biotics

my chest is full of mucus and this gives problems day and night.
i use my inhaler sometimes up to 12 times a day when it is bad.
i suffer from severe wheezing and difficulty in breathing
there is alot of mucus in my chest and when some of it clears sometimes it makes my life alot easier for a short period of time.
i would be grateful if you could tell me a remedy to take and how to take it in detail and how long and what not to eat aswell if this would help me in anyway!
im prepared to take any medicine that would cure this and give me relief of this awful problem

Re: chronic asthma and mucus/phelegm problems From hazro on 2006-10-29
My condition gets worse if i have a cold and im always sneezing in the morning when i get up!
In warmer climates my asthma seems to calms down a ive felt this everytime ive been away on holidays to hot climates!
when its cold i suffer alot more than usuall and my wheezing is very bad during the night and first thing in the morning.
i have alot of phelegm in my lungs and chest area and in the past when i have taken homeopathic medicine the phelegm has cleared slighty in my lung or chest by me actually spitting it out or throwing up its actually made my days better because the wheezing has stopped until there is a build up of phehegm again.
my ashtma is very bad and ive tried everything believe me and im yet to find a remedy that will cure this. If there is a remedy that could possibly stop the phelegm or the build of phelegm i would be very grateful.
At the moment in taking
2 puffs of Becotide inhaler in the morning and evening and use my ventolin inhaler during the day and night when required and believe me its required too many times.
every so often im put back on predinisolone and anti-biotics.
im fed up of this because i cant sleep properly and it limits my daily activities.
if there is any remedy out there then please inform me ill be very grateful for this.

Exercise= cant do it because of my ashtma.

Re: chronic asthma and mucus problems From rishimba on 2006-10-31
sajid,

why are you trying to mislead an innocent patient who has come here to get help.

we all know that an 18 year long chronic asthmatic case cannot be treated by one dose of SEPIA 30C.

neither you have the totality of her symptoms nor the dominant miasm.

on what basis you have suggested one dose of SEPIA and expect to wait for progress.

with the limited information the patient has given, ARS ALB or CARBO VEG are indicated.

can you please enlighten all of us, without taking the full case, how did u zero in on SEPIA.

Re: chronic asthma and mucus problems From drsajid on 2006-10-31
Dear,
I have no need to satisfy you, but for your kind information the remedy SEPIA is selected according to the symptoms, so you have no need to worry, second thing is that , i have said to the patient to report if he feel changes in his conditions, how you consider that i will not repeat the selected remedy?
third thing is, ARS ALB, has not the symptom, 1= sneezing in the morning.
2= Asthmatic respiration amel by expectoration.
so i think patient must take SEPIA, which covers all giving symptoms.

For chronica asthma, eczema and all mucous related problems, patient - please avoid all dairy and dairy products ie.cow's/goat's milk, cheese, yoghout . Avoid it all. Dairy is mucous forming and is best avoided in your circumstances.

Sajid,

if you see the above extracts from kent's repertory, you will find that there are a number of remedies indicated for asthmatic cough, worse in the morning...

my question is, without taking the full disease picture, how did u converge to SEPIA.

you have not even taken the mental symptoms and PQRS of SEPIA into consideration.

please tell us which repertory are you refering to. where is it stated that SEPIA is the only remedy for asthmatic cough worse morning and asthma relieved by expectoration.

this is not the way to treat a 18 year long asthmatic case.

i would like the moderator and all other homoeopaths to comment on the above.

the reputation of this site will get tarnished if the prescribers here suggest off-hand remedies like that.

Dear Rishimba

I am of the view that remedy prescriptions, should always be based on proper analysis, and that analysis has to be made public for scrutiny.

That will ensure discussion and will not only help the patient, but benefit others too in understanding how prescribers arrive at remedy choices.

Dr.Sajjadakram normally gives repertoial analysis, and that is one of the ways.

Otherwise, atleast the salient points of the case, which match with the remedy are to be given.

This is the one of the reson that homeopaths in India never disclose the name of medicine to patients.

They say, 'Other homeopaths are always question it.'
