The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Am I a spoiled Homeopathic case, or can help be offered?

Greetings all,

I believe I've experienced a very serious case of malpractice by a shady Homeopath in which I've consulted for some very chronic conditions about 4 months ago.

In summarizing this journey, this particular doctor (whom I may mention has practiced Homeopathic medicine for 26+ years here in Toronto, Canada and previously in India) gave me multiple remedies. I had known this method wasn't the correct one, but was very dissatisfied with my health and thought it would be worth trying. (And in the process, learned the hard way)

In our initial consultation, I provided an informational package describing some of my characteristics and my concerns. He quickly glanced over the notes and spent some time talking about the treatment and gave me a liquid Silicea remedy to be taken twice daily for two weeks, which was intended to help halt my hair loss. He didn't ask me any questions during the interview, other than wanting to know why I chose to consult him. I became very nervous about the situation, but he assured me I would get well.

I had followed up in two weeks, (Around mid August) in which I was given a constitutional dose of Medorrhinum (not sure of the potency, although I suspect it may have been LM). He also gave me 2 liquid remedies (didn't know at the time what they were, and he would not tell me) to be alternated daily in addition to a 4 week supply of Cell Salts which I was instructed to take every day.

(If you're shocked at the amount of remedies at this point, just wait)

Following up in early October, he insisted that my lack of positive results was my fault for wanting to know what remedies I was given. At this point, I was given another two unknown liquid remedies and once again another 4 week supply of Cell Salts. He didn’t really bother asking about any changes other than my energy levels and sleep. I had asked if I was to receive a dose of Medorrhinum but he said it wasn’t necessary.

Just a few days ago, I called him and asked why I was given so may remedies, had also inquired as to why he didn’t follow the Classical method and about his rudeness toward my inquiry of all his unlabeled liquid remedies, asked for a refund, and expressed my frustration at the lack of results which I attributed to his shady method, although largely my fault for following his ideas. He told me it was not my place to suggest that the Classical method was to be used, and insisted that he wouldn’t be treating me anymore if all I wanted was to use the Classical method. As the conversation progressed, he told me his treatments were to achieve a curative effect, although I defended that all the remedies had left me worse than before and possibly suppressed my conditions even further. More unkind words were exchanged. I paid him a surprise visit just yesterday and demanded that my information papers be returned.

Upon reading them, the only notes he made included ‘Aconite’ and ‘Natrum’. I don’t know which remedies these are specifically referring to, as there are several varieties under the same names.

Anyways, some of the initial symptoms I had, like hair loss, paleness, cold hands and feet, low immunity, waxy skin, scalp irritation and scabs, yellow eyes, body aches, insomnia, lack of concentration, low energy, and depression are worse than before. I also have an enlarged spleen and an increased Bilirubin level. (As indicated by recent medical tests) I suspect a Hypothyroidism issue is underlying the symptoms, but my medical doctor was reluctant to declare that even though the TSH level was high.

At this stage I believe the ‘vital force’ has been further deranged and treatment made more difficult. I just had a single Acupuncture/Allergy (NAET) treatment and have noticed a feeling of well being in just a matter of hours, along with trying EFT (emotional release). This is the first time in a while I feel some degree of health, even with all the outward symptoms.

I’m wondering if I should wait further or consult another Homeopath in hopes of curing my symptoms. Would any practitioners on this site be willing to take my case or offer any suggestions?

My many thanks for your time and consideration, best regards!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dear Melmann

There are many egoistic doctors like the one you mentioned, and it is very unfortunate that, nothing can be done to bring them to book.

Stop all homeopathic medication, and look for a competent classical homeopath, who gives you one medicine at a time, and waits to observe response.

If you can't find anybody like that, then your best bet would be to get treatment from an online clinic.

Again most of the online clinics are bogus, and not trust worthy.

Avoid all those who are claiming fantastic cures.

Look for those who are subtle and restrained in their approach.

But, before trying online tretment, try for good homeopaths in Canada itself.

There must be some.

If you have difficulty in locating such people in Canada, come back.

I will help you.

But, I would prefer you search on your own first.

An all to common occurrence. I have said before, some 30% of all the cases I have treated are those where I have had to sort out the bungling prescriptions of such 'Homoeopaths' before begining proper treatment.

Rest assured though, everything is fixable in the right hands. Murthy's advice above is sound. If you can find no competent Homoeopath in whom you trust, I would be happy to help also.

Best wishes.

Dear Jacob and Mr. Murthy,

Thank you very much for your support; it's much appreciated!

I had stopped taking all of the remedies for about 6 days now and have also poured the liquid ones down the faucet as I'm unsure what they really contained and no longer need them.

My symptoms have balanced out somewhat, but are still very much evident as they were when I initially consulted the Homeopath I mentioned above. I'm also continuing with Acupuncture treatments, have avoided processed foods while increasing my water intake and have also been able to relax a bit more since I don't have to deal with that incompetent Homeopath anymore.

I've searched for some other practitioners in the Toronto area, but can't find any in the vicinity in which I feel I can connect with, or find anyone that can offer an honest opinion on trust worthy and skilled practitioners.

If I may kindly ask for your guidance and help in finding a remedy suited for my symptom totality, I would be most thankful for whoever has the time and patience in offering assistance. I don’t want my case to be a burden for your current schedule(s), although rest assured that I’ll be very diligent with instructions and as thorough as possible.

I've noticed several case taking guidelines on the site and will start with those unless anyone requires a separate set of characteristics to be defined.

Thanks again!

See Jacob's email/website in his profile and contact him.

However, I wish the case is taken here, so as we all can get the benefit of his methods.

He is no doubt a competent prescriber.

Are there any case guidelines that I can fill in the mean time?

Hey guys, whenever you have the time, I'd appreciate if any practitioner can post some guidelines to fill out before the case is analyzed, thank you!
