Can Social Anxiety really be helped by this?

I have been dealing with social anxiety for many years now and have tried anti-anxiety meds (paxil, celexa, etc.) but hated the side effects. I want to be able to relax and enjoy talking to people but I am always so nervous. I feel like there is no hope and that I will be like this for the rest of my life. I am very depressed also because of this. I need help.I feel like my marriage is suffering because my husband is very outgoing and well liked and Im the opposite, quiet, shy and insecure. I have tried counseling, relaxation, and read books but nothing seems to work. When I talk to people I always blush and cant make good eye contact. I know its noticeable and that bothers me. i feel like a scared child around people. I also get hot and sweaty. Can anyone give me some advice?

Dear mjwhisper.

Do you have any regular physical symptoms? Include anything, even those you consider to be unrelated to the condition above. Also, if you can, provide a brief outline of any symptoms or life events you have experienced in the past.

Best wishes.

Do you suffer from or have you ever suffered from any recurrent head colds, earaches, painful or eratic periods?

How was your time going through puberty? Any thyroid problems? Would you describe your eyes as normal, or quite large and bulbous? Any hip problems, or history of such in your family?
