This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It is really sad to see what is being prescribed in the name of homeopathy.

I wish people read this article

dr.Luc's article on pseudo homeopathy.

Dear Mr Murthy

Dear Sazim

For those who visit the forums frequently, my constant reminders about pseudo homeopathy, may look like an excess kill, but how to educate the new comers?

I don't know who was the prescriber for this patient, but that definitely is not homeopathy.

Unless we make it clear to the patients, what is homeopathy, they may think the more medicines the better, and may feel the single remedy presriber, is not considering all problems.

Regarding prescribing, there are many competent prescribers here, like Sajjadakram,Rishimba, maheeru, rajiv and many others.

I too will definitely prescribe, when I feel the medicine I am going to suggest will definitely work.

I refrain from prescribing and leave it to others, in case I feel it is best for the patient to get advice from others.

Dear Sidhant

If you are interested in proper homeopathy, please stop all medications, let the symptoms stabilise, andcome back after three days.

Bell is short acting remedy,You need a deep acting remedy like Hep sulp or Mercurius or any other that may be suitable in accordance to your sign and symptoms.

See your throat in the mirror with a torch. Tell me the colour you see...deep red, purple, whitish etc??

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
Pain is on which side of the throat??

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
Pankaj,
Age - 38+
Yes iam a male..
Yes my tonsils on the right side are a bit enlarged..but not remarkably. When i try to swallow somethng theres a sharp pain on the right side(inflammed side)..
But there is slight inflammation in the left side too.
Actually while plying in a taxi..iwas affected by not to cold winds..and this symptom of drafts of cold/not to cold wind/or wet winds affects my tonsilities..leads to pharangytes or inflammed tonsils..quite frequent..
Feeln of lump in the throat.
In mirror i saw ..when i am trying to extend my tongue it pains in the glands..still the colour is not very red..medium.
Also there is short dry/rattling
cough not very frequent it increases when i start talking..hoarseness in voice..
Also there is a humming sound in my right ear with hearing a bit impaired.can't hear low tones..sometimes it pains in the ear..
Don't think there is any mucous in chest only in throat..
Some constipation is there..
Yes in my early years (14 yrs)
due to some drug (still unknown) i developed thrombocytopaneia(blood platelets below normal)..checked up with some renowned haematologists ..they suggested its due to the malfunction of spleen..(red rashes hd come out in my body)but after some alopatheic
treatment it was cured although my platelets r below normal mostly but it does not hamper my health in any way..and they hv said its nothing to do with my cold troubles..
This ailment was only in my early teens and thereafter apart from low platelet count its almost cured..
this cold problems which i hv mentioned in my first mail are quite recurrent frm my childhood..i hv taken frequent antibiotics fr the problems..and docs presently hv advised sharply to avoid antibiotics on cough and cold or pharangytes problems until they lead to infection and high fever...

Sidhant,
The following medicine should be of benefit to you:

Ceanothus Q....five drops in 1/8th glass of water ..three times a day.

This med is capable of solving many of your health problems. The throat problem is linked to the spleen problem.

Take the med for a week...then post feed back.

What is Bronchitis?

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial (pronounced “brawn-kee-ull”) tubes, or bronchi. Bronchial tubes are the air passages that extend from the windpipe into the lungs.

What are the Symptoms of Bronchitis?

Some of the most common symptoms are: a cough, wheezing, fever, and soreness in the chest.

Is Bronchitis contagious?

Yes. Bronchitis is contagious. It can be spread by direct or indirect contact.

What causes Bronchitis?

Bronchitis is usually caused by infection with a virus. However, bronchitis may also be caused by bacteria, smoking or the inhalation of chemical pollutants or dust. The most common viruses that cause bronchitis are influenza A and B, The most common bacteria that causes bronchitis is Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

When the cells of the bronchial-lining tissue are irritated beyond a certain point, the tiny hairs (cilia) within them, which normally trap and eliminate pollutants, stop functioning. Consequently, the air passages become clogged by debris and irritation increases. In response, a heavy secretion of mucus develops, which causes the characteristic cough of bronchitis.

Types of Bronchitis?

There are two main types of bronchitis: Acute and Chronic.

Acute bronchitis may follow or accompany the flu, or it may begin without having had an infection. Acute bronchitis usually lasts about 10 days. If you smoke or are around damaging fumes (such as those in certain kinds of factories), you are more likely to get acute bronchitis and to have it longer. This is because your bronchial tree is already damaged.

Chronic bronchitis is defined as excessive mucus secretion in the bronchi and a chronic or recurrent mucus-producing cough that lasts three or more months and recurs year after year. People who have chronic bronchitis are more susceptible to bacterial infections of the airway and lungs, like pneumonia.

Well Pankaj,
One more thng i got interested abt after reading ur art on Bronchitis.
How can u explain my case..theoritically like u explained bronchitis..mine is not bronch..
The ENT hs termed it as allergic
rinitis..
If feasible let me know the theory behind my attacks..why i get it so freq..
The amazing case is that when i ws in Bangalore/Abroad-UK..nothing happened in the severest of colds..not a minute sneezing..
amazing..when i came back to India..all sorts of problem came back..Though in polluted cities i always suffer..
I hp ths fact will help your diagonosis also..

Sidhant last decade
I posted about Bronchitis to ask you if this is what you experience !

Anyway:

1. Belladona might have helped you to some extent...but it is not a complete cure for you.

2. Your problem is linked to the pollution levels. Because of your spleen...out side influences will bring you ailments fast.

3. The med I have suggested is meant to restore the functioning of the spleen.
Co-incidentally it also covers throat symptoms.

4. If it is really enlarged tonsils, will have to give another med after Ceanothus has done its work.

What is the Spleen?

The human spleen is an organ that creates lymphocytes for the destruction and recycling of old red-blood cells. The spleen is also a blood reservoir. It supplies the body with blood in emergencies such as a bad cut. The spleen is also the location where white blood cells trap organisms.

The spleen is shaped like a loose fist and is tucked under the left side of the diaphragm.

The average weight of an adult spleen is 0.44 lbs. During and after digestion, the size of the spleen increases. Infection of malaria or mono can also cause the spleen to increase in size.

If the increase in size is significant, the spleen can rupture. If rupturing occurs, immediate medical care is necessary. You may need emergency surgery to control the bleeding.

Other diseases that causes enlargement of the spleen are: rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, sickle cell anemia, leukemia, lymphoma.

Where is the Spleen located?

The spleen is located in the upper-left part of your abdomen. It is protected by your rib cage.

Can the Spleen be removed?

Yes. If the spleen is ruptured, it can be removed. The spleen can also be removed because of certain kinds of cancers.

The lymphatic system is an extensive drainage network that helps keep bodily fluid levels in balance and defends the body against infections. It is made up of a network of lymphatic vessels that carry lymph - a clear, watery fluid that contains protein molecules, salts, glucose, urea, and other substances - throughout the body.

The spleen, which is located in the upper left part of the abdomen under the ribcage, works as part of the lymphatic system to protect the body, clearing worn out red blood cells and other foreign bodies from the bloodstream to help fight off infection.

Why Are the Spleen and Lymphatic System Necessary?
One of the lymphatic system's major jobs to collect extra lymph fluid from body tissues and return it to the blood. This process is crucial because water, proteins, and other substances are continuously leaking out of tiny blood capillaries into the surrounding body tissues. If the lymphatic system didn't drain the excess fluid from the tissues, the lymph fluid would build up in the body's tissues, and they would swell.

The lymphatic system also helps defend the body against germs like viruses, bacteria, and fungi that can cause illnesses. Those germs are filtered out in the lymph nodes, small masses of tissue located along the network of lymph vessels. The nodes house lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. Some of those lymphocytes make antibodies, special proteins that fight off germs and stop infections from spreading by trapping disease-causing germs and destroying them.

The spleen also helps the body fight infection. The spleen contains lymphocytes and another kind of white blood cell called macrophages, which engulf and destroy bacteria, dead tissue, and foreign matter and remove them from the blood passing through the spleen.

Pharyngitis is a painful inflammation of the pharynx, and is colloquially referred to as a sore throat. Infection of the tonsils, tonsillitis (American English: tonsilitis) may occur simultaneously.

The major cause is infection, of which 90% are viral, the remainder caused by bacterial infection and rarely oral thrush (fungal candidiasis e.g. in babies). Some cases of pharyngitis are caused by irritation from agents such as pollutants or chemicals

Viral sore throats
These comprise about 90% of all infectious cases and can be a feature of many different types of viral infections.

Adenovirus - the most common of the viral causes. Typically the degree of neck lymph node enlargement is modest and the throat often does not appear red, although is very painful.
Orthomyxoviridae which cause influenza - present with rapid onset high temperature, headache and generalised ache. A sore throat may be associated.
Infectious mononucleosis ('glandular fever') caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. This may cause significant lymph gland swelling and an exudative tonsillitis with marked redness and swelling of the throat. The heterophile test can be used if this is suspected.
Herpes simplex virus can cause multiple mouth ulcers.
Measles

Bacterial sore throats

Group A Streptococcal

The most common bacterial agent is streptococcus. Unlike adenovirus, there tends to be greater generalised symptoms and more signs to find. Typically enlarged and tender lymph glands, with bright red inflammed and swollen throat, the patient may have a high temperature, headache, and aching muscles (myalgia) and joints (arthralgia).

Some immune-system meditated complications may occur:

Scarlet fever with its vivid rash, although the milder disease seen after the 1950's suggests that the bacteria may have mutated to less virulent illness and some doctors now call this scarlatina (literally a 'little scarlet fever')
Historically the most important complication was of the generalised inflammatory disorder of rheumatic fever which could later result in Rheumatic heart disease affecting the valves of the heart. Antibiotics may reduce the incidence of this complication to under a third.[1]However the incidence of rheumatic fever in developed-regions of the world remains low even though the use of antibiotics has been declining.[2][3]This may be a result of a change in the prevalence of various strains of bacteria. In underdeveloped regions, untreated streptococcal infection can still give rise to rheumatic heart disease and may be due to environmental factors, or reflect a genetic predisposition of the patient to the disease.
Post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis is an inflammation of the kidney. It is disputed whether antibiotics might reduce[4] the small risk of this or not.[1]
Very rarely there may occur a secondary infection behind the tonsils which may cause a life-threatening septicaemia (Lemierre's syndrome)

[edit] Diphtheria
Diphtheria is a potentially life threatening upper respiratory infection caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae which has been largely eradicated in developed nations since the introduction of childhood vaccination programs, but is still reported in the Third World and increasingly in some areas in Eastern Europe. Antibiotics are effective in the early stages, but recovery is generally slow.
