Tinnitus after Firecraker Burst

Dear Sir,

I am Male, 33 years old.

In Oct'2001, A kid had thrown a small firecraker near my left ear. With the burst, my left eardrum was ruptured, and very strong tinnitus started in left ear.

In next 6 months time the tympanic membrane healed up completely. There was no auditory loss as per the Audiogram. Tinnitus continued, but was very mild, & bearable.

Now, since last 2 weeks Tinnitus Ringing has remarkedly increased, and quite disturbing even in the day time.

Could you suggest a homeopathic medicine & dosage.

Regards
Rajneesh Mathur

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Sounds very similar to my experience with my sudden , brief, exposure to landing jets. My audiogram was normal but have a low grade tinnitus. My ENT said that it would 'resolve' in time. I just posted and also waiting for feedback.-Mike

A 250-year-old medical science with German origins which uses plant, mineral and even animal material in minute doses to help the patient's innate 'healing force' to overcome the disease or symptom obstructing health. While better results are to be expected when working with a trained homeopath, the following remedies (with key symptoms in parentheses) have been useful in tinnitus:
Calc carb: chilly, craves sweets, anxious
Carbo veg: tinnitus after an illness
Cinchona officinalis: fluid loss, bleeding
Cimicifuga: head and neck tension, hypersensitive, menstrual headaches
Coffea cruda: buzzing in back of head, insomnia
Graphites: tinnitus and deafness, cracking skin, constipation
Kali carb: roaring noises with itchy ears; queasy stomach
Lycopodium: echoing sound, chronic digestive or urinary tract problems
Nat salicylicum: low, dull hum. Helpful in Meniere's disease
Salicylicum acidum: loud roaring, may present with vertigo or deafness.
Especially helpful if tinnitus is due to excessive aspirin use.

Thanks for the suggestions. Mr Murthy my symptoms do not match with any of the indications discussed in your recommendation. I have a Ringing Tinnitus on left ear. The same sound which we hear after getting slapped on ear. I have no other problem.

I will try Petroleum 200c first, 5 doses, 8 hourly as suggested by Sajjad..

Thank you all for posting valuable information on s/s, and Rx of tinnitus. For the first time my intermittent, dull pain has subsided. It has been 2 months since the incident. Low grade tinnitus remains but only noticeable in quiet surroundings. According to an ENT, normal conversation = 60 to 90 decibels. I'm guessing I had 200 to 300 decibels over 2 to 3 second interval.-Mike
