Arsenicum album?

I have bad OCD and arsenicum seems to be the only thing that's helped it. It hasn't cured it though.. are there any ones past arsenicum? (like nat mur is past ignatia?)

And speaking of ignatia.. I need to antidote it, which one does? Thanks so much.

Another remedy to have in mind with OCD is Carsinosinum or Carcinosin....as intercurrent (in case that Ars. stops working) or like a OCD remedy in itself.-It can be used in one degree less than Ars. if you use it as intercurrent, e.g. Ars 1000c (1M) and Carc. in 200c.
good luck.

Complement to Dr. Albert for selection of Carcinosi, a very useful remedy in such cases But I would like to suggest to take it in 1M potency after a week or 15 days as intercurrent remedy.

Totally agree with you Dr. Mahfooz about the potency selection.

Dear Lissah.

There are many remedies which cover the symptoms of OCD, Arsenicum of course being one, but most certainly not the most pronounced. I must say also, that of all the times I have self proved Carcinosin, I have never once experienced OCD, and I have also, less importantly, never seen any reference to this. Carcinosin is also a very deeply acting 'constitutional' remedy, with it's own very complex drug picture, and all of this should be born in mind when prescribing. To prescribe any deeply acting remedy, particularly a nosode on just one indication is not good Homoeopathy at all, the entire icture must fit, but of course this is at your own discretion.

Re: your question regarding antidoting Ignatia, there are 5 antidotes listed, which are: Acetic Acid, Arnica, Cocculus, Chamomilla, and Pulsatilla.
If you feel the remedy needs to be antidoted then I would apply one (or more in sequence) of the remedies above in low potencies.
It is also interesting that you have reacted badly to this remedy, which of course has a VERY strong OCD picture, as this would almost definitely show the problem is chronic rather than acute, Ignatia only being an acute remedy.

I must also point out that it is not a question of one remedy being 'past' another, unless one is an acute and another a chronic, and even then this definition is pretty dubious...it is simply a question of finding a remedy which is the similium for that which is being presented in your case.

I hope this helps.
