Holy Basil

Does anyone have any thoughts about this herb? I have tried it for stress and found that it is very effective at keeping the adrenal gland from getting over-excited during stress. It also seems to be a Satvic herb (as I believe it is considered), but I am wondering: Is it suppressive? It seems as though it may be suppressive to me. Has it ever been used homeopathically? Apparently it contains natural mercury (Vasant Lad, The Yoga of Herbs). Could this explain its stress relieving properties? In raw herb form it works very well with only a small dose, one capsule, but that leads me to believe that it is working because of some 'poison.' Does this make sense?
