swelling of the knee

My 75 year old mother-in-law has twisted her knee about 2 months ago and occassionally gets swelling and pain in her knee. What can I give her? Do you need any more information from me?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
you may give ARNICA 200C once a day morning for some days.

Really I feel pleased to see you on board dr. rishimba.
Arnica is good selection if it fails then Rhustox would come after this.

I have just learned that my 75 year old mother-in-law also has a large kidney stone that has not been removed. This may be causing her to have pain in her shoulder and her knee yes? If so, would taking Rhustox be helpful still or should she be taking something else. Is there something she can take to help break up the kidney stone?

about the pains associated to the kidney stone, please tell us,

- is there any pain in the sides of the abdomen, near the kidney.

- which side is the stone, right or left.

- does the patient feel any problem during urination.

- how is the urine.

- does it pain before, during ot after urination.

- did the patient notice any blood in the urine.

Doctor did not recommend the removal since she has no pain in the kidney area. I will need to ask her which side it is on.

The pain is not in the kidney area but left side of neck and shoulder.

Will get back you to with the location right or left.

No problem with urination.
Normal urination
No pain
No blood.

I will ask her the details and get back to you.

My mother in law still experiences knee pain. She feels it worse some days then others. She as well as I notice that it is worse in the humid weather. When she sits for awhile it makes it worse when she tries to straighten up. Once she starts to walk and move around it gets better. However, when she stands or is on her feet too long it her knee swells up and she needs to rest with her leg elevated. Again this varies with the weather condition as well.

PAIN AGGRAVATION in dampness or humid weather - Rhus Tox will be more suitable.

Moreover when the injury from the below of the skin - it is 'Rhus Tox' and when it is from the upper of the skin it is 'Arnica'. This is the general rule being followed.

It is that reason the Cause of the ailment is very important in Homeo and also knowing the remedy based on Causes. This helps in identifying correct remedy.

Twisting of knee means no injury from above the skin but it is internal injury.

Rhus Tox appears to be the right remedy.
