Pilonidal Cyst - Yet again
Dear Gurus / PankajI'm Mani 32 yr old Male from Chennai, living with Pilonidal Cyst/Sinus for the past one and half year. It very often flares up and pus with blood come out. After few days goes to dormant stage. The bulge is towards my right side and I'm quarrel some person with liking towards sour taste. I also have disc prolapse in the same region, which I somewhat managed to bring under control. But along with Pilonidal Cyst, I'm having troublesome period.
I consulted couple of homeopaths here and their medication is of no use.
Just before going for the surgery, I stumbled on this forum which kindled my hope for knifeless surgery. I'm trying to apply Mr. Pankaj's posts

I took Myristica 4 times in a gap of 5 days each time, but could not see the expected result. Pus oozes out as usual through a pinhole and stops after couple of days. I could see pimples (metioned in the post as one of the indicator of working of myristica) thats it. The lump was paing for couple of days and stopped. Many people are benefited by this approach which I could see from the posts and actually that's giving me the confidence. Kindly help me with direction to move forward. If the quality of the medicine is suspected, Can someone say where can I get good branded homeo medicine at Chennai.

It is near Nalli Sari showroom.
Atleast, when I visit Chennai, I buy meds there and find them to be of good quality.
Now regarding your case, please post full details all over again. Also let me know for how long you are suffering from this problem?

Thanks for your info. Breif history of the PCS is as follows.
Since 1 and 1/2 years back I was suffering with pain in right leg. At the same time I noticed a small lump in my back near the tail bone, towards my right side. I was not able rest my leg when I lie down. I consulted orthodpedician(s)but they said its just a weakness and gave me some vitamin tablets and said nothing about the lump. I then consulted a Homeopath. He said, the lump is harmless and gave some medicines after which I was able rest my legs and leg ache disappeared, but for couple of months.
I had to relocate 7 months before, after which I developed severe backache with radiating pain in both my legs but more severe towards the right. It was diagnoised with MRI that I have a disc protusion at l3-s4 which compresses the sciatic nerves. Even then when I asked the ortho about the lump he said its harmless. I took physiotherapy and renerve tablets for a while. Consulted a renowned homeopath clinic at Chennai. They said disc protrusion cannot be reversed and gave medicines for Sciatica. I donot know what medicines they gave me.(October 07) I came to know of Ayurvedic Varma treatment and undetook a course of 25 days. It actually improved my condition and my back ache is totally cured, infact it pushed back the disc inside which I came to know from MRI taken later.
During one of those days, one early morning I noticed pus oozing out of the lump. By now the lump is around 2and 1/2 inches in length. I consulted a general physician who said it is an abscess and his anitbiotic did not do any change. He suggested for minor surgery.
(Nov 07)I consulted a Surgeon who confirmed it, with the help of MRI, as pilonidal cyst/sinus and adviced me to go for surgery.
I fixed an appointment for suregry by Jan 1st week. Just couple of days before surgery I stumbled on this forum.
I thought I will consult a homeopath before taking medicines myself. I mentioned him about Myristica but he said the root cause of the problem is my acidity and gave some medicines which I didnot take. I started following your posts and took Myristica 200c, in a gap of 5 day every time. Pus oozes out as usual through a pinhole and stops after couple of days. I could see pimples (metioned in the post as one of the indicator of working of myristica) thats it. The lump was paining for couple of days and stopped. Every time when the lump bulges my right leg aches with pulling sensation. Once the pus drains I'm releived of pain.
Hopefully I would get rid of my ailment with your help. What do I do next? Should I take Calcerea Sulphurica 200? What does 1 dose mean (how many pills)?

I'm 32 years Male. I was affected with leptospiroris when I was 22. At 23I was suffering from not very stomach ache on the right side, which was cured with Siddha medicines. No other major ailments. I smoke 5 ro 6 cigarettes/ day. No drinks. I like sour food. I have medium built body. I do very less physical activity -IT professional :-(

Hello Mani,
You have to first understand that in case of a pilonidal cyst...there is lot of accumulation of pus below the surface which is not visible to the eye.
What you see is only a 'tip of the ice-berg.'
A surgeon will yank it out with the knife and then cannot stitch it coz the area is too weak to hold the stitches. So they keep dressing the open wound for about 21 days...for which you have to visit the hospital every day.
Thru homeopathy...we accomplish the same work thru medicines....and successfully as you have seen many posts here.
First take Myristica 200 ...three doses in a gap of one hour each...then stop.
In 24 to 48 hours you will see lot of pus ozing out ...allow it to come out ...keep wiping it and apply Calendula cream locally.
This will continue for few days.
24 hours after taking Myristica....start taking Silicea 6c (if you can't get...then Silicea 30c)....four times a day.
This will help further in pushing out the pus.
Keep taking this every day and report progress each day here at ABC.
Further guidance has to be inter-active.
Get all three meds and get Calcarea Sulph 6x plus Silicea 200c as well.

Now I noticed, puz start coming out of the small mole sized hole. This is as usual except that the puz is yellowish in color and the hole was previously pin head size.

For the past two days even the little pus that was coming out has stopped; Comes out only when there is pressure in that area, like while sleeping on the bare floor or sitting for hours. But the lump is big and ripen.

The hole has become bit more big and pus is oozing a bit more from this morning. Its paining and burning near the hole.

Take Belladona 200... three doses in a gap of one hour each.
Shud take care of the pain.
Clean the pus with surgical cotton.
Apply Calendula cream externally in the area of the pilonidal sinus.
Donot block the outward passage of the pus in any way. Your operation is taking place...in a homeopathic way.
