The ABC Homeopathy Forum

pls help, 6year old with development delays.

I would appreciate if anybody could pls help me. I have a lovely 6 year old with some pretty complex issues.

pregnancy was normal although i seperated from my partner for a couple of months at about 4.5 months into the pregnancy.

normal delivery, was born on due date, no problems noted by midwife although i noticed that the rght side of his head and right ear were squashed possibly as a result of position in womb.

He has been delayed from birth, sat unaided late at about 11-12months, crawled at about 16months, did not walk until about 2yrs 7months, still walks with a slightly unsteady gait.

speech development very slow at the moment possibly at about 3yr level.

he has slight difficulty going up and down stairs although he is very confident when holding on to the railings.

he can be described as follows, pls bear with me quite long.
1. Very immature behaviour. Play/speech/understanding are not age appropriate e.g he likes to put toys in the toilet, squirt tubes in the toilet, push toys to the back of the sofa or tv, empty things out of drawers. he has had slow development and meeting of milestones from birth(growth in weight and height has not been a problem, although he has been said to have a small head size)

2. Difficulty focusing and following instructions e.g cant stand in line, his hand has to be held by a teacher otherwise he will run off. during circle time/groupwork he is unable to sit down and focus on tasks for more than a few minutes he gets restless and disruptive e.g starts stamping his feet/tipping chairs/drawing over another childs work. he gets loud restless and disruptive during assembly or church or situations where he is required to sit still and not do as he likes.

3. fidgets a lot and hand flaps when excited, at shops and supermarkets i have to hold his hand otherwise he would grab things off the shelfs and touch displays.

4. He is chewing on things a lot at the moment, he has chewed lots of bits of fur off his school coat, he picks objects up from the floor and puts in his mouth, he constantly will put toys in his mouth. sometimes he will walk about with his mouth slightly open and a slight dazed appearance. Dribbling is not an issue, very minimal if at all. He also thumb sucks

5. sometimes has flatutulence which is quite smelly and does not seem to be diet related.

6. problems with gross and fine motor skills, cant ride bike, color in pictures, write, dress/undress.

7. Does not like loud noises, e.g blender, hoover, street cleaning machines, he covers his ears and is sometimes scared if its really loud.

8. Likes vegetables, carbohydrates(loves rice and pasta), likes chicken and beef and fish. will reluctantly eat fruit, likes water and milk but does not like fizzy drinks. also very much likes nuts and olives.

9. has had frequent bouts of flu and asthma.

10. has tiny white flecks on his fingernails.

11. lacks bowel control at night, will wet himself

12. he is not a clingy child only when ill. He is not shy of stangers, he will happily go up to adults and speak to them in an immature way, however he will not usually approcah other kids, he prefers to play alone.

13. he can sometimes be sturborn/obstinate e.g getting him dressed/undressed can sometimes be a bit difficult.

14. his socks are sometimes slightly damp when i take his shoes off although he does not have a major problem with sweating and odours.

his problems seem to be aggravated in places where there is a lot of noise and activity going on.

i have tried calcium carb 30c which seemed to aggravate his behaviour, i then tried baryta carbonica 30 c and then 200c, this seems to have helped a little with his language and understanding.

Any thoughts on this anyone please.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
how was your mental condition when you separated from your partner?

were you generally ok or were in a state of shock and truama?

do you think, this mental state of yours was intense enough to affect your unborn baby?

hi, thanks for the quick response.....my mental condition was fine during the breakup, i would not say i was traumatised by it perhaps a little sad but nothing major.

some questions:

- would like to know the health history of the child's parents and grand parents.

- did anybody in your or your husband's family suffered from alchoholism.

from.

- how does he interact with his parents, his friends, animals and insects. is he affectionate / indifferent / sadistic towards small animals, birds or insects.

- is he a hot or a cold person.

- is he a follower or a leader.

- how was his reaction to different remedies you tried on him. write one by one.

more questions later.

Thanks,

maternal grandparents(now late), had high blood pressure stroke and alzheimers. on paternal side bth are generally healthy although grandad has intermittent high blood pressure. there also is a case of dyslexia(his dads brother). I have had intermittent problems with my blood pressure being sometimes high, my husbands health is largely fine.

as far as i am aware there is no history of alchoholism in our families.

he is sometimes affectionate with us and will give hugs and kisses. he seems to be better behaved at home which is calmer than the noisy school environment or outside the house where there is a lot going on bth visually and auditory this seems to cause him to be overexcited and unable to focus and follow instructions.

he does not make friends with kids his age, if they come up to play with him he is likely to move on to another activity. on bad days he has pulled hair/lashed out or written over the work of another child although this type of aggresive behaviour is less frequent now.

he is not sadistic towards animals/birds/insects, sometimes indifferent although he seemed quite taken to a little dog on a recent stay at a friends farm.

I would say he is of average body temperature, not cold, he will sometimes lightly perspire on face but not at all excessive.

he is more a follower than a leader.

I did not have a good reaction to the first remedy which was calc carb 30c, it seemed to aggravate his behaviour, he was very shouty at school, noisy, dropping to the floor refusing to follow instructions and was not being nice to the other children. stopped this remedy and later tried baryta carb 30c which seemed to calm him down a bit and also improve his speech and cognition, i have 2ce tried 200c baryta carb, it has not caused any drastic change in his overall condition just some slight improvements.

i hope this answers your questions pls let me know if you need me to elaborate further.
