Keratosis Polaris

Has anyone suffered from keratosis polaris? My dermatologist diagnosed me with this and I have a severe case. The skin on my upper arms is blistering with clear fluid inside the blisters. I don't want to take the strong steroid creams that the Dermatologist is recommending. Please help!!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
you need to write an essay on yourself, your personality, response to various situations, likes and dislikes, inner most desires, views about this world in general and your contribution to it..

your tastes in food, fears and dreams, memory, passions, intellect, ambition etc.

also, write about your family health history and your diseases from the childhood.

This post is in reply to 'rishimba' who requested an essay on myself, my personality, my response to various situations, likes and dislikes, inner most desires, views about this world in general and my contribution to it. Also rishimba requested further information regarding my taste in food, fears and dreams, memory, passions, intellect, ambition etc as well as family health history and diseases from he childhood.

Personality-I am a very happy, balanced, grounded person with emotional clarity. I rarely lose my temper and am very caring, tolerant and understanding of others. I am creative and enjoy cooking, gardening, knitting, and spending time with my family. Prior to the birth of my first daughter, I worked in the toy industry. I started as a graphic designer and product designer developing toys for both the US market and international markets. I worked my way up the marketing and product management ranks for a large toy company in the US. Later I consulted for a toy company in HK which enabled me to work up until the day I gave birth. I chose the profession of product development because I wanted to positively impact many lives using my God-given creative talent.
My views about this world in general-I believe that if we all work on ourselves, the world will evolve. We spend too much time looking outward and not enough time looking inward. I meditate, but not nearly enough. I am spiritual, but could me more spiritual. I am working on these things myself.

My childhood was not as stable as my life is as an adult. My parents divorced when I was born. My mother remarried and had 2 children with her 2nd husband. He was in many ways a good father, but hit me when he got angry. This went on until I was 18. He was an orthodontist and suffered from a connective tissue disease. He was on prednisone all the time and I think that made him short tempered. Also, my 1/2 sister died at age 16. She was born with brain damage and other health complications, so that added a lot of stress in our family.
My psoriasis started when I was in my teens.
I could go on, but my 8 month old just woke up and I need to go feed her. I know you have more questions. I'll have to address those later.
Thanks.

please describe the sensation on the blisters.

when is it worst and when is it better, or what makes it better or worse.

how did it start on the first place.

you said, you are spiritual, but could be more...why do you think you have to be more spiritual..

do you have any other ailments in your body.

please complete your essay to address to the rest of the questions.

Thank you for your quick response.

About my spirituality, I think I could be more evolved. I think that is better stated. I think everyone could be more evolved. In my case, I feel my progress has slowed down in this regard because I don't dedicate time everyday to meditate anymore or practice my martial arts. I should dedicate more time to meditation. I stopped practicing martial arts with my Sifu when I moved out of state. Under Sifu Robert Brown in Michigan, I practiced Tai Chi, Kung Fu and meditation. I practiced these arts nearly every day. When I moved away, I didn't find another Sifu to study under, so my focus had changed to my new job and now my family is where my focus and my heart is.
I eat a diet of mostly vegetables, protein from fish primarily, some shellfish and some red meat though not much red meat anymore. I also eat eggs. I don't eat much chicken because I don't care for it. I also eat fruit, though I don't eat it every day. I put cream in my coffee and I eat cheese sometimes. I drink 1 cup of coffee or black tea each day and sometimes I drink herbal tea late in the afternoon. I know that I don't drink enough water and I live in a desert. I find it difficult because I don't have much of a thirst. I stay away from refined sugar, flour and processed carbohydrates. My body doesn't tolerate processed carbs well. I feel bloated, I retain water and I gain weight immediately.
With both of my pregnancies I gained between 90 and 110 pounds. I could not tolerate protein through the entire pregnancy and so I ate the foods that stay clear of when I am not pregnant such as bread and pasta. After both pregnancies, I lost the weight. I am 6 or 7 pounds from my goal weight of 125 (which is what I weight before I got pregnant with baby #2).
Both times, I lost the weight with appetite suppressants under a doctor's care. I also work out. I do Pilates on the reformer 3 times each week and I fit cardio in when I can.

Family diseases: I had a grandfather who died at age 40 of a heart attack. My mother had thyroid cancer that can be traced back to radiation treatment that he had a child for tonsilitis . My grandmother died of lung cancer, but she was a smoker. My mother developed an allergy to Mercapto which is found in rubber. Her reaction is extreme swelling on her face and hives on her face neck and sometimes chest.
I have asthma, though I don't have symptoms anymore unless I am ill with chest congestion. I had a worse case when I was a child. I also have pitting in my nails and the nails separate from the nail beds on and off. This I have also had since childhood and has gotten worse with age. Occasionally, I get a patch of psoriasis on my scalp and genital area, though minor. The dry climate I live in does not help.
The condition on my arms started maybe 6 months or so after my first child was born. I haven't been able to pinpoint when it is worse and when it is better. It just flares up weekly. I know that the hot shower makes it worse right when I get out. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories helpand steroid creams help, but it never goes away. Epsom salt baths help. All of these things are temporary though.
I also have had hemmorroids 2 times. The first time it occurred after I had the stomach flu. The 2nd time after gardening (I was squating). Both times they were thrombosed and the first time, a surgeon had to remove 3 blood clots. The 2nd time, a cream helped. Oh, and the 1st time, I also had 3 that weren't thrombosed and the surgon banded them. I am convinced this procedure caused a fissure that I suffered from for a year. Thankfully, all of those issues are no longer problems.
The blisters-at times they itch (when they flare up). The skin on top of the blisters is scaly. I pick at them but I know I shouldn't. I can't help it. Somehow it feels better if the blisters aren't full of fluid. I also had one of these on the bridge of my nose for over a year. It just wouldn't go away. The dermatologist removed it. He razored it off. So far, it hasn't come back. He sent the biopsy to the lab which came back negative for any kind of cancer. The one on my nose never itched, but it did fill up with fluid. I would drain it (like the ones on my arm). It would bleed, scab, heal and then come right back.
I think this problem with my arms may have started as simply KP, but it seems that the blistering is a condition from something else. Maybe it is from not drinking enough water?? Maybe my body is trying to flush something out of my system. Lotions and hydration creams do not help and some make the condition worse. I also noticed a flare up after taking a bath with my daughter in 'Mr. Bubble'. It was irritating to the skin on my arms.
Did I answer all of your questions?

please take 5 doses of SULPHUR 200C, one every 12 hours in empty stomach.

please dont take any food or water one hour before or after the dose.

stop after 5 doses and note any changes in the sensation and appearance.

please come back after 15 days and report any changes.

rishimba last decade
Ok, I will try that. What do you think caused this condition and why will sulphur make it go away?

lizzierosen last decade
skin eruptions of any kind are actually manifestations of internal disorders of the more important organs.

it could be anything and i really dont know what it is... could be the toxics are trying to come out through the skin..

sulphur will actually simulate the condition you are suffering from and thus your vital force will be challanged !!

once your vital force sets into action to curb the artificial disease created by sulphur, it will cure the original disease as well..

this the best way in which i can explain it to you in short..

however, if you need to know more, you got to learn homeopathy.

rishimba last decade
That is very interesting. Thank you for your explanation. I do wonder what you mean by, '...your vital force will be changed!!...' This sounds scary.

Is it possible that my condition could get worse before it gets better due to this treatment?

Also, I purchased the sulfur today but I am confused by the dosage. I want to confirm that I bought the correct product and that I fully understand the dosage I am to take.
I bought MSM (Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane) crystals because the pill form came in mg only. I figured that I had more control over measuring the correct amount when in this form.
1 scoop =1g
What is 200C?
Thank you for your help.

I think you are new to Homeopathy. Please DONT take the stuff you bought. You are supposed to buy Homeopathic remedy Sulphur in dilution (200C). Please dont ingest the stuff you bought.

srisri last decade
thanks srisri for warning the patient..

lizzie,

please DONT take the stuff you bought as rightly suggested by srisri..

just go to a homeopathic shop and ask for 10 ml of SULPHUR 200C.

for one dose, just put 4 drops of the remedy in 15 ml of water and take it in empty stomach.

now about your question.. ' your vital force will be CHALLANGED.. not changed !!!

if the remedy strikes the root, you may have some aggravation of symptoms for the first few days .. but dont panic, its a good sign. people who are very sensitive may get some aggravation for first few days.

Sorry for my late reply. I was traveling yesterday. Thank you for the warning!! Yes, you are correct. I am new to homeopathy. I will return what I purchased and find a homeopathic shop. I will confirm with you what I buy before I take it.
Thank you again.

I have not been able to find a homeopathy store in my area, but I have discovered that I can purchase the sulfur on the ABC Homeopathy web site. I am trying to figure out which one to buy. Does 'In dilution' mean liquid form?

lizzierosen last decade
thats right..

rishimba last decade
Thank You. Can the sulfur make me feel sick or bring out my symptoms worse? I am out of town for the next 2 weeks. Do you recommend that I wait until I return home to start the treatment?

lizzierosen last decade
i dont know your sensitivity to potencies... thus it would be prudent to wait a few days and start treatment when you are home.

rishimba last decade
Thank you. I will plan to do that. I will report back after I begin treatment.
Thank you again for all of your time and help.

lizzierosen last decade
I ordered and received from ABC Homeopathy sulphur 200c.
I will take 1st dose tomorrow morning and continue every 12 hours for 5 doses. I will report back after 15 days with any changes.
Thank you

thats right.

I have been taking the treatment now for 2 days (4 doses so far). Tonight, I am unusually exhausted. Could this be a side effect of the sulphur? My skin appears to be clearing up, but I think it is too early to tell because it is not unusual for me to have times when I think it is healing and then it flares up again. Should I take the last does as recommended in the morning?

lizzierosen last decade
It is now morning and soon time to take the 5th and final dose. Last night I had a horrible dream and woke up crying...this is totally out of the ordinary for me. Since I hadn't received yet a response to my last post, I surfed the internet for answers and read that tiredness is an aggravation, not a side effect of homeopathic remedies and is the way that the body heals itself best (when asleep). If I don't receive a reply in the next few hours, I will take the final prescribed dose. Thank you in advance for your help.

lizzierosen last decade
its not an aggravation...

aggravation is a term used when the presenting symptoms aggravate.

please take the 5th dose and then wait for 10 days.

please report after about 15 days if you feel that the remedy has worked.

we will decide if you need any further doses of the same or of higher potency for a permanent cure.

rishimba last decade
I took the 5th dose this morning. Thank you. Do you think my tiredness and general lack of energy has anything to do with the treatment? My rash has improved over the last 3 days since I started the treatment.

lizzierosen last decade
i think your tiredness has nothing to do with the treatment...

just keep me updated on the progress..

rishimba last decade
My skin hasn't looked this good in 3 years. I'm not as tired today. Thank you. I will keep you posted.

lizzierosen last decade
Today is day 15 from the first day I started the first dose. The day after I finished my last dose, my symptoms started to return with what I call a 'flare up'. Since that time, overall, my skin is only ever so slightly better.
