The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Infected mess

I've just joined this forum in hopes of finding an alternative to constant antibiotic prescriptions.

Background: I am 3 weeks over a pretty serious sty (in the upper lid of my eye). About a week after the sty, I developed a boil on the back of my neck. Not knowing what it was, I (stupidly) thought it would just surface and go away with neosporin and bandaids...so after a week and half I went to the doctor. At this point, the sty seemed to want to return and the boil was said to be staph. I was put on 2 antibiotics and told this should also knock out the sty if it's trying again. I was worried the eye was initially staph also, but was told it would've been MUCH worse...which is likely true.

I'm off of antibiotics in 2 days and this is where I'm at:
-boil/staph is a large drained hole (not sure if it's fully drained though). Ever seen the Matrix...looks like I have a hole in my neck to hook up to those crazy mind machines.

-feels like sty has not changed.....almost like its lingering until I'm off the antibiotics, then will start up again.

What I want to know more about: This is most likely stress induced. I'm aware that I need probiotics and need to get myself back to a healthy state. Working on that. I want a remedy that will finish all draining involved with this boil, then assist in the healing process. I'm also looking for a remedy/treatment for the lingering sty. I've read about arnica, silicea, and calcarea sulphurica...but got intimidated. Any suggestions or ideas? Help would be much appreciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please take 4 pellets of silicea 6x thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours for 10 days and report back.
Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Thanks kadwa. I purchased arnica, calcarea sulphurica, and silicea (all 30c) yesterday before writing my post---figured it was good to have them on hand. I will have to purchase the silicea 6x. I will try to find it in town tommorrow, but if I cannot, I will try to start the remedy next weekend b/c I will be working out of town and will not have the proper remedy before I leave. I am not sure that my boil or stye will be at the same stage of development by then, which may call for a whole new remedy I'm afraid (especially since the antibiotics the doctor has prescribed will be out of my system). If I do not start the remedy this week, I will update on the condition before attempting a remedy.

Also, I am trying to learn as mush as I can about homeopathy...this being my 1st time I've ever taken a remedy. I'm concerned about a couple things I've read about silicea. I'm hoping you could ease my mind. First, I read that silicea tends to eject foriegn objects from the body, which is fine with me except tooth fillings were listed as something that may become 'ejected'. Doesn't seem likely to me since the actual filling would be embedded in non-living material...but I'd like to be sure anyways. The other concern is silicea's description on ABC Homeopathy: 'In phthisis must be used with care, for here it may cause the absorption of scar-tissue, liberate the disease, walled in, to new activities ( J. Weir.)' Am I reading too much into this? Could my staph infection end up closed back into my system?

Silicea ejects foriegn bodies from tissues. So it won't affect tooth fillings.

Could my staph infection end up closed back into my system?
No.

Kadwa,
It has been awhile, but I'd like to update you on conditions as well as get more advice. After finishing my antibiotics, I began the silicea as indicated. Two 'side effects' I noticed (but quickly disappeared a day later) were strained eyes and slight chest pain. The chest pain felt more like a muscular pull. I am certain these were side effects, as I did nothing to strain my eyes or pull a muscle. I did keep with the silicea and noticed the healing process for the boil went extremely fast. It is still healing and I am currently wanting to do what I can about scarring. The lingering stye has gotten much smaller but is still present. I am convinced that the remedy has had a positive effect. I am now hoping to continue treatment and hope you could provide more advice. I am looking to do the following:

1. Reduce the amount of scarring that is occuring as the wound heals.

2. Completely get rid of the stye.

3. I feel there might be another boil, or possibly an acne spot, that is rising as of today. I would like to deal with it before it gets bad--after having a boil, any bump makes me paranoid. It is currently a very small bump on the skin with no head and a small amount of pressure when touched.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....as was your initial advice.

Sorry, forgot to mention all other responses are welcome too!

Please take silicea 6x for another week thrice a day. It should help you for all the three concerns. If your concerns are not fully addressed after one week, you should come with full details.
Please copy the Questionnaire from the following thread
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/188925/
and post all the questions here duly answered. This you have to do after one week. On that basis your remedy may be worked out.
