Canker Sore

A Canker sore appeared on left side of my tongue about 10 days ago. It was healed in about 5-6 days. But now another appeared on the tongue. It's very painful to swallow or to talk. Any help?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
how treat last one?

what color of tongue?
what part of tongue ?edge -under...etc

what change in salivation & saliva?
odors?

this recurrent condition?
what ill-ness you treat before cankers start appear?

what gastric symptoms occuring ?

swoosh warm water in mouth;
swoosh cold water in mouth---post if aggravated or ameliorated by either of these.

Hi the last one was on the left edge of tongue and I applied Fletcher's liquid on it. It was a white canker spot.
Tongue is coated yellow.
I didn't notice a change in saliva.
I used to have recurrent cold sores in teenage. not any more.

Wehn I swoosh cold water, it feels better. With the warm water was no different.

I am treating my Eczema condition (took Graphites 9x for few days and stopped when I saw improvements). Eczema feels better and rash has reduced and so is burning.
how treat last one?

I don't notice any gastric symptoms.

rash and cankers connected--not sure if from remedy response --old symptom---or what--

i expect rash to be effected if treat just cold sores--symptom chasing----best take totality of symptoms treat whole self--

do you understand this?

will help but need you understand implications and other spheres of self will be effected.

i read old post by you---what effect sulpur have ? what you notice occur after taking?

I has takedn one single dose of sulphur again, but I didn't see any improvements in rash eczema. Aggravated by heat or warm room.
Then Mr. Verma adviced to take Merc Sol 200 (which I had taken in past along with suphur 200) and Graphites. But I decided to try out only Graphites. I took 4 paletes 3 times for 3 days and itching condition imroved significantly. Scar left on right wrist. Canker sore on tongue is a new symptom.

I understand totality of symptoms, so Is it some reaction by taking Graphites? Overall health improved and weight gain in last 2 months from 125 lbs to 132 lbs.

I think I had aggravation of Symptoms when I took Sulphur.

i used to get canker sores constantly, at least once a month and often multiple sores at once.

then i read somewhere online that the toothpaste i use might be contributing to the outbreaks. a very common ingredient in toothpastes is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)... apparently this does something (maybe breaks down a protective barrier?) that allows canker sores to form.

it took a lot of looking but i finally found a natural toothpaste without any SLS in it. i've used it for 2 years now and haven't gotten a single sore in 2 years!

the sores run in my family. i got my brother on the toothpaste and he went 8 months without a sore (until he ran out, used a conventional toothpaste, and got a sore almost instantly)... he's back with the natural toothpaste of course.

i don't know if this can help everyone, but it helped me and i couldn't be happier now that i don't have to suffer that agony anymore. hope it helps you!

I am a severe sufferer of canker sores and when I say I tried everything I did.

Here's what I learned. Canker sores can happen for a variety of reasons including:

*Stress
*Lack of Sleep
*Immune Deficiency (your fighting a cold for ex)
*Reacting to Sodium Lauryl Sulphate found in most toothpastes (get one without)
* Food sensitives - common culprits are dairy, wheat, chocolate, nuts and caffeine

The best thing is to cleanse your diet. But my sores were so severe I couldn't even eat. I saw three docs who gave me Tylenol 3s, a mouth wash for cancer patients, and antiviral treatments. Obviously they didn't help.

What did help was:
Licorice Root Tea - instantly soothed them

Canker Melts or Canker Covers - order them online. Canker Melts are great for along the gums near team while Canker Covers work for tongue and cheek ulcers. and YES they really do help reduce the time significantly plus help with pain

Oracort - from the Dentist. It's a paste to apply.

Peridex - yes this can discolour but helps to remove.

ALSO for prevention:
Get up on all your vitamins, get a B12 shot if you are low, and ensure you are taking Omega 3s every day.

Also - you MUST have Vitamin C, Zinc, Copper, B12, Iron

Oh and one more thing. If you take Ibuprofen - stop immediately! Don't listen to the forums that say to take it for the pain. It is a non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug that is known for causing ulcers including mouth ulcers.

Ever notice how pregnant women say ulcers magicaly disappear when they are pregnant? They are also told not to take NSAIDs - coincidence? I think not.
