lm = 50m?

As the roman number L equals to 50, is there a difference between

anyremedy 50M
and
anyremedy LM

and what is this difference?

Thank you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
50M = 50, 000 c
1 c = 1 part remedy in 100 part medium
2c = 1 part 1c of remedy in 100 part medium and so on

LM 1 = 1 part remedy in 50, 000 part of medium
and so on....

So LM1, in terms of remedy material present, would be equivalent to something between 5c and 6c.

Niel

Dear Niel,

thank you for replying.

my homeopath gave me Crotalus Horridus LMK, 5 drops daily.

As I cannot find that ilution here in the US, I asked him to 'translate' the potency and he said to ask for a LM 50.

Does that make sense to you?
Is it a too high potency?

Thank you.

An LM50 is outrageously high.

Was there a number on the Crotalus Horridus LMK that you were given?

No, just LMK.

Before this, he gave Sepia LMK (and then DMK) 5 drops daily for 6 months, with some improvements, except on my acne.

The weird thing was that - while on the Sepia - if I only skipped a day, I felt weird and irritable. It felt like i depended on the remedy and I didn't like it.

He's very accurate, hee's an MD and I think he's a ggod doctor, he's starting to know me really well, but I'm getting scared of these high potencies and I don't know what to do.

I feel like i should live with my acne for a while and see what happens without taking anything.

Thank you.

Well, I wouldn't give anyone a 50M or a LM 50 for any reason whatsoever.

Start with an LM1 unless your tolerance is very high, then perhaps an LM2!

Daily doses of Sepia 50M is that right? (or LMK) That is a huge amount - I agree with Sameer's comments on a previous post if that is what he is doing it is very risky.

The vast majority of people would not need daily doses of 50M - I have used such potencies only occasionaly and even then only single doses over very large periods of time (months apart, if it is repeated at all).

Needing a remedy every day is mostly likely showing that it is palliating or suppressing your condition. Improvements on the correct remedy do not fall away so easily. As said previously, my patients would be fine for many months on a single dose of 50M if it is correct.

I would trust your intuition around this. Stop the remedies and see what happens. I am not convinced that your MD is trained correctly with this kind of dosing.

I believe he is running the MM rather than the LM scale.

Anyways, like David said stop immediately. MM, C or LM scale, K potency is way too high for such repetitions.

Just for the record, that was American sarcasm in my comment, not sure if others understood it. Many perscribers use higher potency LMs than the 1-2-3, etc.

I meant that I almost always start LM cases on LM1, and work up.

In one of David Little's articles he says that the highest LM potency he's ever started a case on is LM3.
