Thrombo Embolysm

Hello,
My mother-in-law has serious problem and now admitted to hospital. Her 4 fingers except the thumb in the left hand were turning blue due to blood clotting. Doctors have used some surgical methods to remove the clot from her fingers and trying to recover the condition to better condition by some medicines also. Last two days, they sucked the clot twice. Today it seems there is no further deterioration in the clotting condition but neither there is any improvement. Doctors say it is Thrombo Embolysm.

Little background about her
She had thyroid problem and radio-iodine was given and whole thyroid is ablated.
She is on eltroxin for last 3-4 years.
She is very sensitive and cries very easily.
Due to very small misunderstandings also very easily breaks down and cries.
She gets angry on everyone and fights and find difficulty in adjusting with others (these problems reduced significantly after ablating thyroid).
She is about 60 years old. Otherwise, her health is good.

I was reading in ABC homeopathy forum and found that some one has used Arnica 30C to cure DVT in legs.
Can you please suggest a medicine for this? Is there any problem in taking homeopathy medicine now with other ongoing allopathy medicine?
If not, i feel i shall get the medicine on emergency basis and try that on her.

I request you to kindly treat this urgent and write to me the medicine and dose .

(is C is same as X sometimes people write 30C and some people write 30X)

I am very eagerly waiting for your reply and remain grateful.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I was interested to note that you have read about Arnica 30c which I have prescribed to many who suffered from DVT.

I would recommend that this remedy is taken by all air travelers who are over 50 years of age as it is in the air that a passenger is at greatest risk of DVT due to the lack of air pressure at 40000ft even though the aircraft is pressurized to around 8000 ft equivalent when the Oxygen content in the air is reduced by about 25% to what it is at sea level (21% down to 16%). It is best to take 2 doses of 4 pellets per day of Arnica 30 sublingually, on the day before, during and after a flight to prevent any problems associated with DVT.

Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken 3 times daily should help your Mother in law to overcome the clotting of blood in her fingers which is very unusual and which I believe was caused by the surgery to her Thyroid gland which you stated was ablated.

Please note that Arnica will take some time to act and it is essential that she takes it with all the drugs and treatment that she has been prescribed for her condition.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Liquid pack in Alcohol, also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user.

I note that you seem confused about the potency of Arnica that should be used and it is 30c.

I recommend that she takes one dose of Arnica 3 times daily for life.

Thyroid was not operated and removed, but radioactive iodine was given and killed the entire thyroid. There was no operation.
The problem the doctor describes as thrombo embolysm and Today ayurvedic doctor has seen that he called as dry gangrene. There is blood circulation upto the wrist and no or very little circulation in the palm. Doctor feels that if the circulation does not increase the the entire palm (from wrist) has to be amputated.
we some how want to save this part of the body.
So, after reading this, do you feel, arnica is ok? or any change in the remedy you suggest?
We are all worried regarding this problem. Kindly help out of this situation.
thanks in advance.

It seems a great pity that you did not post your patient's problem on this forum many months ago as she would not be in the predicament that she is in today.

Please be assured that Arnica 30 in the Wet dose is absolutely the best remedy for her. You can increase the dosage to 4 times per day.

You can also give her a frequent massage of her hands to ease the blood flow and keep her hands warm.

I shall await news of her progress as often as you can do so.

Dear Joe,
It all happened in last 5 days. Initially she said she had some pain in the hand and slowly few fingers turned blue. They contacted local doctors and could not get the correct advice. 3 days ago they visited my friend who is senior doctor and he advised a quick and emergency treatment. Now the condition is this.
I came to know yesterday only. They live in southern part of India and I live in Kolkata which is 3000 km away. They did not inform us thinking that we would worry about this problem. Indeed this is really a pity and unfortunate that i could not know of this problem and write on this forum. I am old user of this forum and have been benefited by this. I am also a strong believer of homeopathy. Right from tomorrow morning we shall start this medicine.
I thank you very much for the help and care you show to my mother-in-law.
Thanking you once again.

dear Joe,
There is another suggestion by another doctor on this ABC homeopathy blog. He is Neil Madhavan. This is as follows.
'Please give her wet doses of Crotalus horridus 30c every 2 hours till relief. In addition, please give Cocculus 200c one dose every 6 hours.'
I would like to get your comments too on this choice medicine. Please dont mind that i am asking about suggestions of other doctor. It is just my worry and tough time we are passing through due to this situation. I some how want to avoid amputation.

Dear JOe,
Sorry for many posts.
I would like to clarify regarding the dose. You said to give a dose of Arnica 30c.
AFter preparation of one dose, should the rest of the bottle of water be thrown and prepare a fresh dose in new bottle of water? Or same bottle to be shaken 6 times once again for the next dose?
Kindly clarify at the earliest and till then we shall keep making fresh dose.
Thanks a lot

Please go ahead with Neil's therapy which may also be effective to help her unusual problem which requires immediate attention as we must do everything to enable her blood circulation in her hand to be restored ASAP.

The Arnica therapy I suggested is based on my experience with this amazing remedy and I have glanced over the article that you referred to and shall comment later.

There is absolutely no need to make a new bottle of the remedy for every dose as this is sheer waste of good medicine. Remember to succuss the remedy by shaking it hard for at least 6 strokes before every dose.

Dear Joe,
Thanks a lot for the advice. I hope she will recover from the problem soon. Hospital is not allowing her to use any other medicine so we are shifting her to cousins' hospital so that we can administer homeopathy with little request.
I shall keep you updated regarding the improvement.

HOping for the best.

Nabhi

I am glad to note that you have moved her to a hospital that permits the use of alternate medicine.

I am only too aware that some hospitals do not do so and the only recourse is for the patient to be in one that does.

I am anxiously awaiting news from you about her progress.

Dear Joe,
Dr Niel Madhavan had suggested to start giving her Arnica 30c. We have procured Crotalus horridus 30c and Cocculus 200c. She is afraid of taking all these medicines. But she has started taking Arnica 30c. Just after first dose, she got high fever 104 deg F. Is this normal? should she continue? doctor visited her and gave some injection and brought down the fever now it is 100 deg F. Is the sudden onset of fever is due to Arnica? If so, i feel the medicine is working.
What do you suggest? should she continue Arnica? or she should take some other medication along with Arnica? if so, please do suggest me. I have posted this question to Dr Niel also. I am waiting for the answer from any one of you.
pl do reply at the earliest.
regards and thanks,
Nabhiraj

Please get one important fact straight.

There is absolutely no possibility of Arnica being responsible for her temperature. This temperature would have most likely been due to some infection caused by the medical procedures tried out in the last hospital she was warded to save her hand. You mentioned that they had tried some form of suction on her hand to take the clotted blood away and this procedure would have left some wounds that have now turned to lesions which will have to be treated by antibiotics which I presume were delivered by the injection that was administered. I cannot believe that this injection was an antipyretic designed to only reduce the fever as it is more relevant to kill the bacteria before gangrene sets in.

It is essential that the antibiotic must be continued and you must inquire from her doctor what the injection was that was administered and whether is was an antibiotic or an antipyretic or was it both?

In any event it is essential that she takes the Arnica as it may make the difference between amputation and saving her hand.
