Interdigital furuncles in canines

Hello,

I have a dachshund who has a cronic interdigital furuncle between his toes.

It's painful and he limps and licks at it a lot.

He's a fun loving guy, always willing to play ball. Doesn't associate much with other dogs, but prefers human company. He seeks heat and likes sleep under the duvet or by the fireplace in winter.

He loves to be handled and held and cuddled as much as you can give. Attached to you at all times.

Loves almost all food but not crazy about fish.

He was put on antibiotics once and it relieved it but of course it's back now and I'd love to find a more permanent treatment without the side effects. Any help is appreciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him 2 pellets of silicea 12x thrice a day at a gap of atleast 4 hours for 7 days and report back.

Hello there,

Believe it or not I'm just now doing what you suggested so long ago. The dog in question is not mine so I am not with him often and it's tricky to try and work out alternative treatments with owners.
In any case I spent a few days with him last weekend and he was very uncomfortable so I started the treatment plan. Today is day 5.
Within seconds of the first dose he gave a few licks to the paw. If I'm correct he was thinking something along the lines of "hmmm this doesn't feel so bad right now. I don't think I need to lick it"
Since then he's not licking anytime that I see and will allow me to put a little pressure on it while he monitors me closely. This is new.
The swelling itself is not as large but is definitely still there.
It's also the case that prior to the start of the remedy he broke it open twice and it bled and drained a bit so I imagine that had a little to do with the shrinkage.
We'll finish out the 7 days and I'll update you then.
Thanks for the help!

Hello again,

We finished the 7 days with the little dachshund on Friday the 7th.
The paw is much better. It's not obviously painful. He's no longer licking it. But there is still a very small swelling.
Other details about him.
1. His left eye is pussy on and off. A greenish discharge accumulates in it.
2. He has bowel troubles. He's sensitive to rich foods or food changes and has diarrhea that is sometimes very jellyish. I assume it's mucous. There is blood in it as well. Red not black. So he will have an episode of diarrhea where the first part is voluminous and jelly like then it's smaller amounts and liquid. Then a few days of very small stools, then another episode of diarrhea.

What do you suggest from here?

Please give him Pulsatilla 30 twice a day for 7 days and see how that affects over 10-15 days. One dose means 2 pills.

Silicea 12X may be used whenever you feel that his paw is hurting. Pulsatilla too is expected to help for his paw and other issues too.

Okay thank you! We'll do that and report back.
If I'm buying the CH rather than x type would that still be 30?

30CH means 30. You got it right.

Okay. So when you said silicea 12x, I did 6CH. Was that right?

Let me rephrase the question.
Am I to understand that when you say the number without either CH or x, that you mean CH?
Also am I correct that CH is half of x?

Am I to understand that when you say the number without either CH or x, that you mean CH?

Yes, this is exactly what i said.

Also am I correct that CH is half of x?

3 CH means
For 100*100*100 10 million drops of dilution, there is only one drop of medicinal substance.

3 X means
For 10*10*10 1000 drops of dilution there is only one drop of medicinal substance.

So mathematically it may not be permissible to do 6CH for 12X but homeopathically it is permissible.

Homeopathy is a wonderful combination of arts and science.
