Patient ID: Sex: Age: female age 15.5 years old

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?
Hypothyroid possible hashimoto’s autoimmune thyroid as mother and some siblings have it.

No menses yet and testing shows low dhea-s, and low sex hormones, high shbg, seems to be some issue with the hpa axis not working properly used to have high then low cortisol

we are treating with armour thyroid and other herbs and supplements and things are stable but hard to keep thyroid levels right first they are too low so we increase armour then they are too high. Also no menses has us concerned her mother started menses at 13 yr.

ADHD and poor test taking ability, poor focus in classroom weak memory

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

At this time while on medicines she is stable, suffers occasional mild headache, and cortisol is not always
stable.
Some hair testing showed high mercury. And low iron…

ADHD poor test performance in school seems to have a weak memory and test anxiety but is also happy go lucky so may not always care enough to work really hard in school but seems that she has hard time listening in classroom and focusing on testing…reading might be an issue for her

Sometimes she complains of vaguely not feeling well but cannot be specific so not sure if it is real or nerves or low blood sugar…sometimes just low energy slow moving

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

she is happy girl now but has fears of not starting her period because she wants lots of babies when she grows up.
She used to suffer terribly with anxiety and ocd but is better now with all the medicines and supplements. We don’t want to be so dependent on thyroid medicines for her autoimmune disease…test anxiety and fears of not getting into college

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Anxious, fearful, insecure

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

From age 1 month she had very bad colic…lots of skin rashes and allergies lot of ear infections..reacted badly to vaccinations…but after colic passed she was happy baby and very vocal…then her speech development stopped and she babbled but had some speech issues and some auditory processing issues…but happy none the less then at age 9 she got breast buds and went on a weekend trip with a friend and had a complete breakdown anxiety was awful and she would not leave my side …I tested her cortisol and thyroid and levels were low we started on NAET, iodine and eventually thyroid meds…also lots of supplements…her breast development stopped at that time and that was 6 years ago..she is the 5th child, 4th girl in her family if that matters

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

Again symptoms are not an issue at this time due to meds and supplements but mornings tend to be the slowest part of day for her….of course low sex hormones might be doing something negative that we cannot see

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

She is worse if she does not take her thyroid medicines or supplements and vitamins, test taking makes her nervous or failing a test makes her feel badly

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

When she was younger she reacted to family stress like mother and father arguing or siblings arguing…but now she seems pretty stable as long as I (her mother) continually monitor her thyroid levels and put out her vitamins for her..she does get irritable when she is hungry and tired

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

On weekends and summer when no stress and schedule is lighter…when she can sleep in a little later

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

she is agreeable and well liked by her peers, nervous and her friends know this about her and support her and help her, not easily offended wise beyond her years, sort of lazy, messy, very immmature for her age not in bad way but does not take initiative at home in doing chores or cooking a meal, loves babies, guilt plays a large part of her, she is eager to please her parents, cares a lot about what we think, likes math, athletic but not super competitive, … in the PAST before we got her stable she had great fears, paranoia, she could barely go to school but that was in the past

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?

Not sure I have ever noticed her feeling any way before…she used to be scared of thunder but now she sleeps through it

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?

Yes she often needs comfort from her mother..reassurance …when she does poorly on a test she will say “I am so dumb how can you love me” but she gets over it very quickly

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? no don’t think so

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?

she used to have some tics with her face always making odd gestures out of her control when nervous…does that still occasionally, she will play with her hair out of habit twists it and touches it often

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

She is very social and likes everyone at school rarely if ever has disagreements with friends, likes just whatever most of the time, loves babies , dearly loves her siblings

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

Says things like “ I will just die if I cant have babies” fears her parents dying but does not seem extreme in that fear…she never mentions a reoccurring dream but in the past that was different

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

She has a huge sweet tooth …bad one…..she also seems to like fast foods which we don’t allow too often….she does not like eggs but will eat them if they are doctored up with cheese or in a taco…

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? normal

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal maybe borders on excessive

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? Eggs, does not like milk either

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? Normal but her feet are really stinky all the time…major stinky

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? 1 per day…normal brown

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

She sleeps very well…tired at about 10 pm on school nights and up at 645 a.m. on school days..on weekend she will sleep much later say till 10 a.m. and I might have to wake her up….sleeps mostly on her back

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

That I don’t know…but she is so immature and sex hormones are so low she might not have strong desires…however when she was 9 and got that breast budding and anxiety she did mention some “play” with the neighbor little girl and she felt very guilty about that for some reason ..she is not interested in boys at this time

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?

She likes herself but does compare her school performance in a negative way to her peers, she feels dumb and compares her test scores to theirs but sometimes she will laugh it off and laugh at herself..we are working on that

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

Armour thyroid but problem is we cannot seem to find the right dose if we go too high her sex hormones get messed up even more if we go too low she is hypo and her adrenals suffer more…takes iron, b complex, b12, fish oil, vitamin k2, d3, vitamin c, some low dose lithium orotate cause levels were low in hair test this is just a supplement not high dose, selenium, iodine, vitamin a and e, sometimes ala, have been thinking of some ashwanganda to support her adrenals…in the past she took isocort for cortisol because she was low cortisol and she took t3 only meds for a while for her thyroid now she switched to armour..she also did some homeopathy but I don’t remember the formula..

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

Hashimoto’s autoimmune thyroid disease, low cortisol due to hpa dysfunction maybe due to inflammation? Our tsh never went over 2 but we had low free t3 and low free t4 so hpa does not work right…

grandmothers both had carcinoma one breast other lung, the one with lung was addicted to cigarettes most of her life both dead, one grandfather parkinsons and heart attack deceased, one grandfather healthy, both great grandfathers died of carcinoma one lung one pancreatic both were smokers both dead before she was born, one great grandmother died of heart issues after pneumonia, and one great grandmother lived to age 93 in good health, 3 siblings with hashimotos and both parents with it…

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance

5’4”, 125 lb, muscular build, small breasts, large feet size 9 shoe, long toes very long toes, fair skin, freckles on face across nose, brown eyes, brown hair dark brown, black eye brows, long eyelashes, considered attractive, nice mouth, straight bottom teeth top teeth had some mild crowding, long fingers…her growth charts as an infant said she would be 5’7” but still shorter than was predicted so some issue there maybe?

24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)

Please answer the following questions:
(Please give details of your past menstruation if you have attained menopause.)
- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? How long do they last? Never had menses yet
- Do you suffer from any kind of physical or mental discomfort before, during or after the periods?

Please give her a single dose of Pulsatilla Nig 1M and see how that affects in one month. Only one dose, not daily.

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 2 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

I think she sounds a lot like me when I was that age in many ways.

I'm a calc carb and I also didn't get my period until after most of my friends did. I was afraid to try new things. I tested poorly. I didn't even walk until much later than most babies. I've had low thyroid issues. I was forced to do chores so wasn't allowed to be lazy and was tutored so I did well in school. I still tended towards being lazy. I was always tall and thin though unlike the calc. carb chubbier body shape.

I wouldn't worry about her developing late. She's just a late bloomer. She may not reach her full height until several years from now. Stop projecting on her.

My parents were all bent out of shape over my testing. They even made me repeat a grade in the middle of the year! That was horrendous! We later ended up moving and I went to a private school where half the class was kept back just to handle the demanding academics and get in to the school so it didn't matter. I later even ended up skipping my senior year and caught up the grade that I'd lost.

Don't worry about a delayed interest in sex either or boyfriends. She'll end up making better decisions about relationships.

THANK you for your comments you are likely right! what is calc carb? this is all new to me so i dont know the lingo! and you are absolutely right about not worrying about her delayed interest in boys that should make for better decisions !!

Calc. Carb is Calcerea Carbonica. Read the profile. Or better yet, have her read it. You may find it is her constitutional remedy which would be wonderful.

I wish I'd had a mother like you who would have thought to do anything other than criticize me and limit medical treatment to conventional medicine. I was off and on depressed for years. It wasn't until I was in my 30's and started reading about natural medicine and took my basal cell temp and found it was lower than normal which meant hypothyroid (which explained the depression) before I found the path to better health.

I simply took a homeopathic 'Thyroid' and a thyroid glandular along with a radical diet change as I'd become addicted to Dairy and learned that whatever foods you like the most is probably what is making you weaker. So you need to give it up while cleansing, which is what I did along with meat, most starch and most sugar.

Within two weeks my elimination was regular, and I was loaded with energy! My thyroid was working on its own and I hadn't even discovered my constitutional remedy yet.

If I were her I would stop the Iodine treatment. Homeopathic remedies take longer to work but they won't have an enervating effect like isolates can have. Diet, homepathics and herbal remedies and glandulars in that order is what I would do.

Isolates (individual supplements) can help but like with drugs, down the road they can have a negative impact on health. Anything except what nature has provided has limited benefits.
Of course it isn't like drugs but people shouldn't need to take a boat load of supplements all their lives just like they shouldn't need to take Rx.

Getting the lymph glands moving is what we all need. That will get rid of cysts, tumors, mucous and all ill health and make us happy and healthy. We tend to ignore it and it takes up 3x as much space as blood does in our bodies! The Miracle Detox Source Book is a great reference for detoxing.

If Calcerea Carbonica is her constitutional remedy, ask one of the more experienced homeopaths on the forum how much she should take.

Hi Dawn,

Remedies are prescribed based on symptoms and the
amount of matches they have with a remedy along with
other parts of the totality of a person, food likes and dislikes,
weather preferences etc.

Kadwa has been prescribing on this forum since the start of
the forum- years ago. There is a mistaken notion that
people are a 'remedy'. One should not identify with a remedy,
it is a means to activate your life force to clear out imbalance-
whether it is one remedy or a series of remedies to restore
the life force /immune system to optimum levels, it is a
matter of choosing the right remedies at the right time, right
dosing amount, right potency amount.

Sometimes people start looking at this like it is astrology-
I am a _____.This is not how it works, you cannot figure out
what you should be taking yourself- as homeopaths do not
even prescribe for themselves- no one is unbiased enough.
Except for acute prescribing , where you can take things
short term for colds, flu, injury , chronic problems need
to be supervised by an experienced person, and you are
in the hands of an experienced person.

simone717 last decade
I agree, Simone. Kadwa is very experienced at this. He in fact told me that I had correctly determined my own constitutional remedy.

If you take the time and read through all the profiles,on this and other sites, it is possible to find your own.

I was just making the observation that to me, many of the characteristics described were identical to and in fact even further fit the Calc. carb. profile even more greatly than they did for me. I never pretended to be an expert and recommended doses etc.Since I thought this forum was about education as well, I just thought I'd mention it. That's all.

The constitutional remedy does not stay the same
forever. Homeopathy is about the 'law of similars'
and while you were lucky to find your 'similar remedy'
and it healed you, that does not mean that if
you have problems down the line that
is going to be the same remedy. There is no
magic bullet that works for your entire life.

People can list symptoms and come up with
100 remedies that are a close match- that is why
homeopathy is an art and a science. A person has to
know what they are doing in order to know what
symptoms matter more than other symptoms, etc
it is a complicated thing to do this on chronic
problems.

And people do not usually go tell the homeopath
I am this remedy-most of the time they are wrong
and they get into trouble. People should not self
prescribe, unless it is an acute problem.

simone717 last decade
Nobody is hurt by learning, researching or discussing and understanding their options with their practitioners. If more people questioned their medical doctors, we wouldn't have so many sick people out there.

Curious2 last decade
How would i go about reading more about constitutional remedies...i find it all very interesting...of course do not trust myself to say this is it! but might see things that seem right and then can ask those that know more!! where would i read about Cal Carb ?

dawnv5 last decade
You can read descriptions of remedies right here on
this site. Go to ABC remedies at top of forum and
click C- and read the remedy description. You can
click P and read Pulsatilla description also.

You can also use the Remedy Finder and put symptoms
in there and it will give you a grid of rated remedies.

Also on the front of the site upper left it gives homeopathy
basics.

When first started using this site 3 years ago in February, there was a really helpful post with recommendations of other sites with Materias Medica which were a lot more condensed than the one here and I found those really helpful.

I don't know how to search the forum by date so I can't get back to them and find them for you.

However, by searching on any search engine 'Homeopathy Meteria Medica, profiles' you will find some good sites.
HomeopathyTimes dot com has ten of the main profiles crystalized down pretty well.
