nat. mur. and mint

Hi all-

I have been prescribed natrum muriaticum (for hair loss which happened in teenage years) last month by my homeopath and she mentioned that i should avoid mint, whether in toothpaste or anything else. I agreed at the time but later began reading online about this and have seen conflicting opinions on whether one has to avoid mint completely, i.e. even in things which are mint flavored, like mint chocolate, etc.

I'm a big lover of mint chocolate so it's annoying that I have had to abstain from it even for 1 month haha.. just wondering if any experienced homeopath in this forum can advise me on whether it's okay to have it or not? I know nat. mur. is one of the remedies which especially does not interact well with mint but just wondering if that only applies to things with actual mint in it or if the flavor also counts?

I would ask my homeopath but I feel like I keep bothering her with questions so figured I would ask someone on here first haha..

Kindly let me know. Thanks! :)

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Your statement: 'I know nat. mur. is one of the remedies which especially does not interact well with mint'

If you already know it then why are you worried about your doctors suggestion.

And by the way - your doctor is right. Despite not mentioned in homeopathic materia medica, it is experienced by many doctors.

So it is your life, you can trust your knowledge and eat mint generously or trust others, who has been experienced and 100% avoid mint.

It is not in books.

Meaning I have read that but I also have read other conflicting information which says it's okay to have mint as long as it's not immediately before or after taking the remedy. Also my doctor did not specify if it applies to mint flavored things as in mint chocolate or only very strong mint flavored things like toothpaste (I already switched it to non-mint before starting the remedy), altoids, etc. Obviously I am not gonna post a question if I already know the answer to it.... I am looking for more information on this so I can better understand how it works.

Yes, as of now I abstained from having any mint flavored things because I am afraid of antidoting it. I just wanted to know if it applies to all mint flavored things or only the strong ones like toothpaste, etc. That's where my doubt is.

I'd suggest you to follow your doctor's advice.
