This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This may have been caused by vaccination. In any case suggest you do not have any further jabs.

Certainly stop any antibiotics or chemical medication .

Boeninghhausen used a combination of three remedies in sequence for croup.

Get 6c of
Aconite
Hepar sul
Spongia

Use Acon in the morn
Hep sul at midday
Spongia in the evening

Do this for 7 days and then stop --- stop in any case if the problem goes away.

Hello,

Please do stop all antibiotics. You can try: Sambucus Nigra in 6c twice a day.

i advise the same as walkin.
it is interesting to read of the different combinations that have been successful and I am sure they very much suited the individuals concerned.
However, the aconite, hepar sulph, spongia is tried and tested many times for general treatment of this distressing but common condition.
if the croup cough is very distressing go into a steamy room with your child to help relieve the cough (run the shower, bath or boil the kettle to make the atmosphere full of steam).

Thanks a lot walkin ,erika and princeofnoland ,i think i will try walkin's remedy and post you the result .I did give her steam this morning which did seem to help.she is not coughing much but there is a very peculiar kind of horseness as in the case of laryngitis. You could be right walkin 4 days back only she got her MMR Vacc.So what can one do to prevent this frm happening again

Help Walikin,erika
Gave my daughter one dose each of the prescribed remedy she seemed fine throughout the day though she was sounding hoarse but there was no cough just hoarseness but nothing alarming but as soon as she fell asleep at night she woke up crying and coughing her throat seemed badly choked ,i mean it was really scary she seemed scared herself ,since my son is asthmatic i gave her 2 puffs asthalin to open the airways and she agin fell asleep but all through she was making loud hoarse noises frm her throat ,i mean really ghostly once .she woke up again after half an hour with the same symptoms gasping for breath ,loud noises while inhaling and exhaling ,terribly uncomfortably ,was only coughing in sleep ,was feeling comfortable while holding upright .So i mean at the end we had to nebulise her only then she ws able to sleep little bit.I know you people are against commercial medication but could'nt think of anything else which would end the scary ordeal.
What do you guys suggest.

Hi - I wouldn't use your son's medication for your daughter without seeking the doctor's advice as it could be dangerous!!!
No-one is against doctor's medicine when needed but croup is not asthma and this is not a good idea!
If this happens again tonight give your daughter some extra doses of aconite - this should help. what potency are you using, as for the night-time incident as you described you will need a 30c or a 200c.

Hi erika
Well i did speak to my dr. before giving her those med. .Infact this is actually the third time when she has been in a situation like this and previously the same method was applied by the allopathic dr. ,pediatrician said the line of treatment of laryngitis is similar to that of asthma ,i mean nebulisation and bronchodialators.I have aconite 200 with me how many doses should be given and also how do i prevent her frm catching this infection.

try one dose of aconite 200c when the croup attack starts. Only repeat a second dose if needed and if the first dose has definitely helped. Again, only repeat a third dose if needed and if previous doses have helped.
In my experience 1 dose often suffices.
I am surprised at inhaler/nebuliser approach for croup, but if your paediatrician has advised this then of course you should follow this advice if breathing difficulties occur.
Keep up with the steam as this is the main advice I know from doctors.
Further homeopathic treatment will help prevent further infections - do you have a homeopath nearby you?

Aconite sounds good to me

Hi erika,walkin
Thanks for all the help. She is much better now.I have stopped allthe commercial medication .When she started to cough yes. I gve her one dose of acconite 200 and she stopped to cough within 2-3 min during the day she was fine just a bit too clingy but don't really blame her fr that at night again she woke up coughing gave her another dose and it worked beautifully on her.Really thanks a lot ,need some further advice on how to handle this problem if i can feel that an attack is about to come because generally one or two days before the attack she coughs a little bit (once or just twice) and i start to get the feeling that she is going to be in trouble soon and after about two days i find both of us struggling .Secondly what should i do to make sure that she gets out of this vicious circle.

Thanks

so glad to read of the improvement. :)
if you sense an attack coming on, as you describe, you could give a dose of ferrum phos 30c (general), or aconite 30c (if has been out in cold wind, is suddenly worse, or if other aconite symptoms fit) and see if this helps. there is no promise this will help as to really help with this and with getting out of the vicious circle you need to book in with a homeopath for a full consultation so that these issues can be dealt with properly.

I think at the moment tender loving care, and attention to good diet and plenty of fluids (pref. water), is the best remedy. If, however, symptoms worsen please come back for advice. and of course use the aconite if needed again.
if you have any more questions I will be happy to help if i can.
