Silica Question

I am a 24 year old female, not taking oral contraceptives or anything. I have very oily skin and mild to moderate acne. I have been taking horsetail (silica) supplements for about 2.5 weeks with no improvement what so ever. If anything, my breakouts might have even gotten worse. Should I stop taking the horsetail supplements? It's 440mg and it says to take it 3x a day, preferably with a meal.
How long should it take before I see results? If horsetail hasn't worked yet, should I still continue to take it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi- Stop taking it, it is not working.

You can try a homeopathic cell salt called Calcarea Sulph- Cell salts
are a sub branch of homeopathy and they work by balancing the cell
metabolism. You can find them at Whole Foods, Hylands brand,
near the homeopathic remedies. There are 12 cell salts.

Follow the directions on the bottle and try it for a week or so to
see if you have results. Cell salts can be taken for 3 weeks on , then
a week break. btw, as far as remedies go, in homeopathy you don't
keep taking things when they start to work, you stop and wait for
symptoms to return.

Cell salts are very mild, low dose, so you can take them over a period of
time, but do not think of it the same as vitamins or allopathic medicine,
bc when you have fixed the problem, you don't keep taking it bc
you will then be overdosing.

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. I'm fairly new to homeopathy. It's only been a few days but my acne does seem to be improving from the calc suplh. Not much improvement in the sense of my oily skin though, not yet at least. However, you're saying that once I get to the results I want, I stop taking it? There's no preventative/ maintenance dose?

Hi-Homeopathy works differently than allopathic medicine.
When you take the right remedy it stimulates your life force
to clear out the imbalance. Each persons body will have
their own timing on this and normally you take a dose of
a remedy, when it has action you stop taking it, and wait till
things come back before taking more or if things plateau before
taking more, otherwise you overdose and things will come back.

Cell salts ( there are 12 of them) are a sub branch of homeopathy.
The cell salts work by balancing out the cell metabolism so that
nutrients are absorbed correctly and the body functions smoothly.

You may find you only need it for 2 weeks and then start taking
it once a day, and then once a week, etc. The way homeopathic
remedies and cell salts work, the issue should be solved and
you do not need a preventative dose.

Make sure your diet is good and that you drink enough water,
and get some exercise every day also.btw, if you want to know
basics on homeopathy go to the site of Mary Aspinwall, a
master homeopath in Santa Barbara, on the right side of the
home page, click free resources and she has a free book
you can download.
