my view :
AS the disc herniation is take place when a tear anulus fibrosus .Anulus fibrosus is made from fibrous tissue and cartilaginous tissue in various proportions.
to repair the tear combination of Hypericum Perforatum and Symphytum Officinale can be use.
In some cases the bulge out nucleus pulposus beyond the damaged outer rings causes inflammation of Spinal never which cause abnormal sensation like burning sensation, tingling sensation, etc for which Cantharis and Kreosotum are best selection but Phosphorus and Sulphur may also be helpful in some cases. For pain due to disc herniation Hypericum Perforatum will work but Causticum , Arnica ,etc can be use.
Some time fragment of anulus fibrosus stuck for which mixture of calc phos and Silicea will be helpful.
