CAN remedies cause harm?

Hello Friends,
Please hear me out on this very important question. I've used homeopathy for 10 years, under the care of a very famous and wonderfully skilled Homeopath. I understand homeopathy and have seen its amazing work. I would have said I had complete faith in it - and the idea that it either "helps" or doesnt, but in no way can cause harm.

Now, I am feeling in need of some reassurance.

Two reasons (I will be brief):
1- After a long time on Lac Can with excellent results on my anxiety and OCD issues, we started a new remedy (Dys Co)to address some hormone issues and I developed horrible dark scary dreams and feelings of doom. Yikes - back to Lac Can. Then tried Rhus Tox - which totally kicked out the Lac Can and my OCD and anxiety returned full force. I now feel fearful of remedies, after feeling bad effects from these two. (2 weeks back on Lac Can and I am thankfully restored to calm health). Perhaps these two new ones simply stirred things up, but the old symptoms returned and new symptoms arrived also. It was very scary.

2- My elderly cat (16 yrs)really enjoys Rescue Remedy in his water. It helps him relax and not be restless. We put this in his water every day for a very long time (trusting that it can not cause any harm). Then, the younger cat suddenly develops terrible anxiety, starts attacking the elderly cat, always frightened, develops a rash. Someone says "Long term use of Rescue Remedy can actually CAUSE the symptoms its supposed to help". Yikes! Have I caused this by using the Rescue Remedy? (We stopped, she improved, then she drank the water only meant for the elderly cat, and we have an episode.)

Friends, I feel scared now. If I try a homepathic blend to address anxiety or the rash for my young cat, will she have a new symptoms? I am fearful, I feel in the need of guidance or reassurance.

Thank you for reading and listening! :)

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
When you say a long time on Lac-can - how long? What potency and dosage? How often do you take it?

Bach flowers are not safe when used like that. You should never be taking something every day for long periods. This is not how cure works - medicines should remove the problem, and there should be no need for ongoing dosing. That is how orthodox medicine works, which operates on a system of palliation and suppression.

All genuine cure happens through the Law of Similars, so anything that can cure you WILL also cause the symptoms if taken inappropriately (too long, too often etc.).

It could also be a case of not curing the underlying cause of the anxiety, but only suppressing it, which actually causes it to worsen even while it is being hidden by constant use of the medicine.

Thank you for the reply...

Lac Can since June 2014 at 25m, I sip it in water as needed, when symptoms return, which is generally once a month. The Dys Co and Rhus Tox is really what concerned me, because I had such a negative reaction/situation when I took it (bad dreams, return of anxieties, etc).

For the Flower Essence for the cat, I do see what you mean. In a sort of "repeat as needed" and seeing that he is much more calm when he has it, I guess I got in the habit of putting it in his water without fully thinking about it. I think the elderly cat needs something more specific to help with his restlessness, and clearly the younger cat doesnt need it, since it caused the anxiety in her.

Yes... you say we need to address the underlying cause of the anxiety. For the cat, I havent yet figured it out. For me, I think I know... my own homeopath says "If you live in a moldy house, there is only so much we can do about the sneezing!" :)

So, from what I have told you, trying a blended remedy for anxiety for the cat (from Homeopet) in hopes that it addresses her fears/anxiety and perhaps the skin rash, would either help or not but would not hurt (unless we used it for too long, which we will not make the mistake of again!)

Thanks so much!

What is the potency of Lac-can?

Its 25M. I took a tablet of it dry the first time, ever since I have a glass jar of water in the fridge that has a tablet dissolved in it and I take a sip when I have at least 3 days of a setback, which is usually about once a month. But, since the complications, I have had a sip per week for two weeks. :) Thanks!

25M? Really? That is an extraordinarily high potency. Using it once a month would imply to me that it is being overused, and is not curing. High potencies like that only need to be repeated rarely. Most patients would only need one dose ever, if it is a genuinely curative remedy.

I would be very concerned that the remedy is acting only palliatively, or suppressively, being needed so often.

Does it cause any aggravation when you take that dose, or do the symptoms just go away (or at least reduce)?

You have been given some odd instructions for taking the dose too.
How long has that jar sat in the fridge?
Is there alcohol mixed in with the water to keep the remedy active?
Are you being asked to alter the dose each time by hitting the jar against an elastic surface?

I am quite perplexed at this treatment - strange potency, strange instructions, too frequent dosing, and not the kind of result that should come from using such a high potency.

Something definitely isn't right here - it's hard to see what is being done exactly.
