Swollen Cheek - Right Side

Hello. Several days ago I started getting some itchiness in my right ear, and then some very very minor pain, and it was so minor I didn't really think about it. Then I noticed the right side of my face was also a little sore, tender, some shooting/neuralgic pain. Sensitivity in teeth bottom right. Also have noticed some sensitivity in the upper right teeth. Usually when it goes into my face and teeth it's a sinus infection, but haven't noticed any sinus symptoms. Right cheek is swollen like I have a walnut in my cheek or something. It's not just localized to this one particular spot on my cheek though because my whole chin/jawline/neck line is tender to the touch (almost up to the right ear). Not sure if it's swollen salivary glands, or lymph nodes.

Had a low grade fever for a day and a half at 99.5, but now it's down to 98.6. Had some chills as well, constantly back and fourth hot and cold, couldn't seem to find the right temperature where I was comfortable (that's not unusual for me though) Was thinking it might be a tooth abscess, but not so sure anymore because seems more widespread and not just a localized spot. Have tried some of the remedies for tooth abscess but at most I would say there has only been about 10% improvement, nothing has brought any striking improvement. Hekla Lava and Hepar Sulph seemed to have helped the most. Hekla seemed to bring on the fever, silicea, seemed to help the fever. Have also tried Belladonna and Mercury.

The only other thing I have tried yet is Pulsatilla and Sepia. Not so much today, but just dawned on me the past day or two when this started that I seemed like I was very emotional, very teary, could cry very easily, sometimes crying for no reason, sometimes from something sentimental. But obviously thought of Pulsatilla and Sepia.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks so much!

Hi,

I suggest that you go to the dentist and get
facts on this. An infected root of a tooth can
cause this and also cause referred pain all over.

There is an infection going on and it will cause
fever, chills, low energy which can make one
emotional.

Did get diagnosed with a huge abscess in my mouth (they looked in my mouth for only one second) and said they didn't need to look any further, gave me prescription for antibiotic. Has not drained at all. They were surprised with the size of it. Dentist won't even do any work until the swelling goes down and some of the infection is taken care of.

Prescribed Clindamycin (antibiotic) 300 mg 3x daily, and Naproxen - 500 mg 2x daily for swelling.

Haven't touched any medication in years and was trying all kinds of remedies, colloidal silver, oil of oregano, hydrogen peroxide, other antiviral, antibacterial herbs, even packed my mouth with pressed garlic hoping to kill infection but to no avail (though the garlic did take away all the pain for a few hours). Have always been able to find a natural treatment without medication but accepted defeat as graciously as I could :) Thanks for your help.

Hi Herbalguy-

You may be interested to try Host Defense Reishi,
cheaper on Vitacost ( at wholefoods too) get the one
that says helps a healthy heart-this is just powder
mushrooms in capsules- food. Huge immune system booster-you don't feel anything, just better- have used
this for many years.

Best wishes,

Simone
