Adenoid in 3 year old

My son who is 3 years old is suffering from 75% nasal blockage due to adenoid. He was advised Cal Carb 30 for three days and has been asked to continue R49 and Munostism for a month. He is also on steroid nasal spray. Also doctors have told that, if the condition does not improve in a month, he will have to undergo surgery of adenoids. Please advise, if by taking homeopathy surgery can be avoided.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
He can be cured. He doesn't need to undergo surgery.

If you can stop all remedies or any other form of medicines, his true symptoms can be observed. Based on his original symptoms, a single remedy need to be selected based on his totality.

2. What are his likes and dislikes in food?

3. Does he like cold or warm environments?

4. List some adjectives to describe some peculiarities in his behavior, habits and response to different situations.

5. What are his fears?

6. Is he a normal, intelligent and active child?

7.How is his energy level throughout the day?

8. What is his family health history and what major diseases have shown up in the last two generations in his father's and mother's side?

rishimba 8 years ago
He is quite outgoing. Likes cold environments. Likes fruits - banana, mango etc. Cannot eat spicy things. Very active and energetic throughout the day. Gets very cranky when he is hungry and also when he wants to sleep. Runs a family history of asthma on the mother's side. And mother is having allergic rhinitis. Pediatrician has told that my son is also having this allergic rhinitis because of which his adenoids have got enlarged.

itzadarsh 8 years ago
You need to give more information about him if you want a long term cure for your son.

However, looking at his energy level and thermal preferences, he seems to be just the opposite of a Calc Carb child. So, I don't think Calc Carb will ever work on him.

If his symptoms are very acute now, you can give him BELADONNA 30C once every 3 to 4 hours for a day only and then once every 8 hours for the next 2 days.

Once his adenoid swelling reduces, you should start his remedy on his totality of symptoms.

To understand his totality, you need to fill up a questionnaire fully. His nature, personality and general symptoms are very much required to treat him constitutionally.

Has Allegra stopped the nasal discharge but increased his suffering because of the swelling of adenoids?

When was Allegra given to him last?

If you want a cure, would you consider stopping Allegra for a month?

Please answer these questions honestly before I decide on the remedy.

rishimba 8 years ago
Allegra has been given to him from a week. Even before giving allegra he did not have too much nasal discharge. Allegra has somewhat improved his condition to some extent 5-10%.

Give him ARS ALB 30C once every 6 hours some 6 doses maximum.

If you see any change in his symptoms after a few doses, don't give the rest of the doses.

Let me know in a week.

One dose would be 3 drops of remedy in 10 ml of water slowly sipped up in clean mouth and empty stomach.

No food or drinks one hour before or after.

Hi Rishimba,

I have got the ars alb 30 today. Please let me know if this would reduce the adenoid swelling. Also should i stop all medications before giving this. What kind of effects or side effects can I expect.

Kindly advise.

Thanks

itzadarsh 8 years ago
Please stop all other medications and wait for at least a day or two for the true disease symptoms to manifest.

Start ARS ABL as suggested. If he responds, his adenoids also will become normal in the days to come.

Sustained dosage will gradually cure his adenoids. The only thing is he should respond to Ars Alb.

I have chosen this remedy based on his totality and hope he will respond to it.

After giving him the doses, please wait patiently for some 3 to 4 days to see the response. Don't go back again to allopathic medicines without waiting for response.

My Son is 3 year old too. He has nasal congestion due to which he snores while sleeping. I will really appreciate your time if you could recommend some medication.

ENT doctar recommends adeniodectomy surgery which we don't want to go for. A nasal endoscope was introduced through the nares. As per report- Adenoid hypertrophy was noted and 100% choanae obstruction(which i don't understand).

I have provided some details - 1. Age, weight, height - 3 yrs 4 months, 15 kg , 3 feet 1 inch.

3. Describe the nature of the child (shy, headstrong etc. give details) - Shy outside but open in home.
4. Have the growth milestones (e.g. teething, standing, walking, talking etc. )achieved early, on time or late - On time
5. What are the symptoms of the health problem - Snoring whenever he sleeps (day/night)
6. What makes the problem better without using medicines - Using steamer helps a little.
7. What makes the problem worse without using medicines - When suffering from cold/flu/runny nose
8. How is the child behaving emotionally during this problem - Cries and gets frustrated for not being able to sleep.
9. How long the problem has been there - 6 months.
10. What is the reason of the problem in mother’s view - craniosyntosis surgery was done when he was 1.5 year old.
11. How is the child’s thirst & appetite - normal
12. What does the child like to eat - mostly sweet items like biscuit/chocolates.
13. What does the child dislike in food - fruits & vegetables
14. Is there any strong preference of taste e.g. sweet, salty, sour, bitter - Loves sweet
15. How is the stool & urine - Normal
16. How is the child’s sleep - awakening at night & abnormal posturing during sleep, snoring and sweating a lot in night
17. What is the child afraid of (animals, insects, darkness, alone etc.) - alone
18. Where does the child sweat normally - head and back.
19. How much does the child sweat (little, moderate, a lot) - a lot
20. Any problems with nose, throat, ears, chest - none.
21. Is the child normally cold or hot - hot
22. Was it a planned pregnancy, if not, how did you feel on finding about it - yes

Please let me know which medication would help to avoid surgery at this early age.

kranupam,

Please start a new thread and address it to me. I have some more questions to you before I can suggest any remedy for your son.

This thread belongs to itzadarsh so I am not asking the questions here.

Hi Rishimba,

One more thing which I forgot to tell...If we put of warm clothes for my son for a long time..he will get red rashes on his back and stomach. He keeps getting this skin rashes.

Thanks,
Shalini

itzadarsh 8 years ago
Also a strange behaviour is that he keeps holding something or the other in his hands and keeps it till night ...when we will have to snatch it.

itzadarsh 8 years ago
Noted.

Please follow earlier prescription. In case ARS ALB fails, we need to compile all these peculiar habits and then see if it points to another remedy.

For the present, it seems ARS ALB is indicated.

rishimba 8 years ago
Hi Rishimba,

Have stopped all medications for Adarsh. Now will be giving the ARS ALB 30 tomorrow. I have pills. So I hope it is fine to dissolve in water and give it. Also kind of worried stopping of medications would not make his condition worse. He was also on steroids nasal spray. Have stopped it all. And completing hoping ARS ALB works for him.

Thanks,
Shalini

itzadarsh 8 years ago
Noted.

However, if his condition becomes too much worse and you feel uncomfortable with it, you should not hold yourself back. Give him the required medication to handle the acuteness of his symptoms.

rishimba 8 years ago
Hi Rishimba,

Started with ARS ALB 30 today. After an hour or so...felt the adenoid symptoms have increased. Now he has gone to school. Will there be any aggravations. How many days do you think I should give the medicine.

Thanks,
Shalini

itzadarsh 8 years ago
The aggravation would remain for some 48 hours maximum and then it will reduce gradually.

Don't give any further doses if there is aggravation. It seems his response was quick.

Wait and watch his aggravation come down and then let the curing start. If after about 15 days, his symptoms don't get cured, let me know.
