Painful, swollen thumb

My left thumb is swollen, painful when moving and to touch, can't bend, joint seems swollen, a little red. Started yesterday with what appeared to be a cut in cuticle and pain around cuticle (sort of like the impetigo I had as a kid but no major swelling/pus). I took Rhus, but didn't help.

Pain around cuticle came on the heels of taking 2 doses of calc-sulph for a boil outside of right armpit (which helped about 50%).

Hope someone can help!

Thanks

Thank you for your response nawazkhan.

I think I have hit on the right remedy. I took Phos 30 based on the peculiarity of arm hanging down causing more pain in thumb & symptoms of the boil. Phos didn't do anything for my thumb, but the boil by arm pit burst and started to drain.

The pus was white mixed with blood. I took two doses of silicea 8x to drain, and by luck, that also made the thumb pain about 50% better. It's no longer excruciatingly painful.

Because I aggravate/prove silicea easily, can I use 30c without closing the boil before it drains? There's so many opinions on what potency drains and what heals it closed. I think I need the 30c to address the thumb (it very well matches my mentals too), but I don't want to prematurely close the boil.

Both are acutes from only the last week.

Thanks.

Incidentally, I think Phos is my constitutional. Hypersensitive, psychic sponge, clairvoyant, empathic are my most pronounced mental/emotional symptoms. It's the symptom that affects my physicals the most because I pick up on others emotions and often become physically drained by it. Pulsatilla is a very close second and of course silicea is it's chronic...but I avoid it like the plague.
