I have struggled with acne in my adult years -- in sorry you're going through it!

What things have you tried, wholistically speaking, (not topical creams) to deal with it?

For me I had to majorly change my diet...

What changed in your life 6 months ago?
Yes I have tried homeopathy with some success. It's very complicated to figure out the right remedy by yourself, and it's an ongoing process.

If you can find someone on here who knows the remedies (better than I do!!) they can help you but you have to tell a lot of symptoms and how each one is exactly.

I do know that it is not good to take more than one remedy at a time as it can compound/confuse the problem.

Also if you have something in your diet that is aggravating the condition then homeopathy is not going to help because it will keep coming back. :(

I didn't get rid of my acne until I cut dairy products out of my diet....

Try to think positive and remember that your acne is not who you are and be patient for the answers!!

Yes I am allergic to dairy, soy, and gluten...

Yes some homeopaths do prescribe multi remedies at a time, but this is not the traditional method.

It's hard to say how long treatment can last because no one knows the level of disease that your body has accumulated. It could take a few weeks to a few months at least.

I know that if you have taken the right remedy you will feel slightly better within a few days at least.

If you can trace back to what changes took place in your life 6 months ago when the acne first appeared...think if it is something that you can change back, or undo somehow.
Did you start a new medication? Or stop an old one?
major stresses?

Another thing to make sure of is that you are getting beneficial bacteria goods in your diet. (I.e. Yogurt, sauer kraut, kefir milk/water, kombucha, etc).
Your gut health is basically your immune system.

Ah-- that kinda makes sense... My natural doc told me that if you're constantly bombarding your body with toxins, (in your case cigs) then your body, not having a chance to detox, will store those toxins. Typically in your liver. When you switched to vaping I bet that break from cigs allowed you to try to cleanse and it happened to come out through your skin as a detox channel.

Just a note-- cigarettes can hinder the work of a remedy. :-/

Drink lots of water, eat foods that are beneficial for your liver-- vitamin c is good for cleansing.
B vitamins are good support as well.
It's not homeopathic but a very good detox aide that I've used is called Zetox- you can get it on www.regalsupplements.com

It has got some b12 in it too. It doesn't taste bad, and you just put a little in your water every day and the micro particles grab onto toxins and take them out. :) start slow with it though.

Well, again that really depends on your body.
Factors like, how long you've been storing the toxins, how well does your body eliminate them (once it has the chance to)...

You could have very fast results--maybe a few weeks...or it could take a month or so. Try to think like this: you didn't get here overnight --it's going to take some time to undo the damage.

Maybe keep in touch with your homeopath and let him know these things...like that you are looking at a detox situation and what can he do to help facilitate...?? Your body has to learn to heal itself again. That's where homeopathy can really shine.

I can't speak to your homeopaths purposes -- but I do know that there is a "mainstream" belief that silicea is generally good for skin strengthening/ healing.
I think there's confusion there between the homeopathic remedy and the mineral alone.
If you were to take it in a 6x then I could see that being the case.
If it's in a C potency then it's no longer a simple cell salt, it's a potentized remedy and works differently. Again, this is just my understanding of it. I have been told that if you take a remedy (C potency or above) too often that you can actually imprint the disease of the remedy into your vital force. No good!

Did your guy give you a timeframe of how long to keep up his regimen? A time to report back to him?
If it's been 10 days and you see no improvement *whatsoever* then there truly is no reason to continue taking them....

Sorry I didn't mean to confuse you. Silica is the same as silicea. Just a different spelling. And sorry I can't respond right away to you every time. I'm trying to be as helpful as I can--a lot of people on here are not helpful--seems only will respond if you have a penis problem lol.

Yes I would use homeopathy. I am still using it. I'll give you a website to look up remedies and their uses...

The key is not that any one remedy is for this or that condition, but that each remedy has a list of specific symptoms that must be matched to the patients own symptoms. These include all from the mind and emotions and inclinations all the way down to every physical malady and how you personally experience it.

If the remedy makes the acne worse you should definitely stop taking it and wait to see what happens.
That's kind of a rule- if there's a strong aggravation or a strong amelioration then it's time to wait and watch.

Why don't you call your homeopath and tell him how you feel? If you can't handle it then he needs to address it as a new situation.
If he's not cool with that then DEFINITELY find a new guy.

I don't know that acne (although there may be puss involved) counts as removing foriegn objects...that's odd.
You need a single remedy that addresses your entire self. Not just your one issue.

This one remedy will strengthen your vital force and help teach your body to heal itself.
If the silica is only chosen to address one symptom out of a potential 100 symptoms then it can just compound the problem. Your body learns nothing but instead just had another thing to try and deal with.

I don't think the pus is the foreign object though. Think of like if you had a sliver and it got infected .. There would be pus because your body is trying to expel the sliver (foreign object).
But still, that's not the most important thing. It's only one small thing among a myriad of other symptoms that should be present if that remedy is right for you.
