How to conquer anxiety

Hi eveyone, I'm new in this group and I need your help. I had been suffering from severe anxiety for many years now. I was able to get over it six years ago without medication. My anxiety and panic attack came back last year and this time it's more intense as it affects my appetite. My mother passed away last year and during the timeshe got sick I could hardly eat and up to this time I'm struggling with my food. I have constant pressure on my chest and always anticipate whereever I go I will have a panic attack. My doctor gave me 0.5mg of Xanax 3 times a day. It does calm me down but I don't still feel hundred percent right. Now my doctor gave me 10mg of Lexapro but this medicine makes me nauseaus ans eventually the side would go away. I just want to know what everyone does to calm them down when they start to panic.

Thanks
Cristina

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It always surprises me when doctors prescribe xanax multiple times everyday. As I understood it, you're not suppose to take more than 10 pills a month because the body gets addicted to it and there is severe side affects if you suddenly stop. I'm not trying to scare you at all, it just surprises me.

Thank you for all your advice. Xanax is doing a good for me at the moment and you are right, I might become dependent on it but I have no choice at the moment. As far if it's going to harm me, I'm not sure about that. I get my blood test every year and everything is fine in my body system.

I'll check out the emofree com

Thanks again
