overheated easily

My husband overheats very easily. With minimal exertion and after eating. He has always been "hot" and sweated profusely on the head, face, neck area and hands with minimal exertion, which embarrassed him when a teen, and now as an adult. What would you recommend?Other symptoms are psoriasis and eczema on lower legs, elbows, and even in ears. gets ingrown hairs on his legs. joint pain and arthritis.

See the answer has been given by you.Excess pitta (fire) is the root cause.

He would be healed by anti pitta diet and herbs.

Check banyan botanical website for anti pitta diet and pitta constitution info.

Bitter astringent and sweet tastes reduce pitta. So maximise these tastes. All three are cooling tastes.

Avoid pungent(hottest), sour and salty tastes. No meat, coffee , tea, spices.

You can start with aloevera sap on empty stomach in morning and evening along with livercare (liv 52) from himalaya. Excellent bitter herbal formulation for liver(seat of pitta in body)

Report after 15 days.Remember PITTA is the key.

Hello: He has been taking aloe vera sap and livercare for more than 15 days. We learned about an anti pitta diet and have been using cooling spices and avoiding heat inducing foods. We also are using spearmint and peppermint teas, and made the anti-pitta tea with spices. I also purchased Neem soap and aloe for him to use daily for body and face washing, as we read Neem is cooling and calms irritated skin. We used Neem oil on his skin eruptions on his legs and elbows, which cleared up very quickly.

Within days my husband began complaining it was too cold in the house, and after a week I noticed he had turned down the air conditioning thermostat from 73 to 75. It does work. We have purchased a blood cleanser supplement which he will take after the livercare is finished. We also notice improvement in three weeks in his skin with less excema and redness. Thank you for your help, this recommendation from you is working!

I do now have another question. He craves sweets and white processed foods. Every single day he eats pie, or cookies, or ice cream. He adds sugar to his coffee. I keep plenty of fresh fruit, watermelon, and anti-pitta fruits in the house. But he goes for the sugar and/or chips every single day, sometimes several times a day. Can you recommend anything for this?

Good to hear the improvements.

Bitter herbs are most cleansing and cooling.

You should continue with liver care till it completes its job.Its the best there is.It will clear out all excess heat and will restore balance.
There are Other excellent herbs you can try:giloya, bhringaraj, kutki.

Your husband will gradually change for better in all respects even his diet.just give it some time. Healing takes time but you would see continuous improvements.

When we are healthy and in balance we make correct choices. When we are imbalanced we make incorrect choices called prajnapradh in Hindi. It Means offence against wisdom.

Organic sweets are healthy and excellent for him.White sugar and processed sweets are unhealthy and should be strictly avoided as they clog the system and also tax it.

Read about gunas (satva, rajas, tamas).

Eat satvik diet.(pure vegetarian)Gradually as a person becomes satvik using satvik food your choices will automatically become healthy. You tastes will change in everything for the better.

We are What we eat.

Increase Ghee/milk/raisins/ after a month.

What's your location?husband' s age?

We will read about gunas, and increase ghee, milk, raisins after a month and continue Livercare.

He is 60 and we live in Florida.

Good.

Use herbs as advised till balance is restored and no more.

Bitter taste increases air. At 60 your husband is in vata (air)phase of life. Thus use bitter till it restores and not much thereafter. Then milk/ghee/raisins would suffice to keep cool.

Okay. Thank you. Funny thing, I also took the tests, and learned I am Vatta. I am the one who shops and cooks for us. I see now that my choices are not good for Pitta. We have hung both lists of foods that we should avoid on our refrigerator so before we eat we can check to see which item we should not include on our dinner plate, or in our salad bowl. This has been VERY helpful for us both.

That is ayurveda for you. Individualised diet/lifestyle/yoga/pranayama/aroma/colours/emotions/ and what not.

We are five great elements put together in different proportions leading to our individualised gross experiences/perceptions.
