Plant or animal?

Does anyone know if the Venus Fly Trap is really a plant?

It is labeled a representative of the Kingdom Plantaes as such (among others), but I was wondering how, if it is a plant, could it eat an animal?

It literally snaps its trap-jaw down on little insects and sucks the life juice out then, spits out the exoskeleton.

Where does a carnivorous plant that also gathers nutrients from gases in the air and nutrients in the soil fit into the big picture?

Is this really a plant or an animal?

So I guess you could say that the venus fly trap is just a plant that eats meat.

And what a crazy thing the duck-billed platypus is.

A mammal that lays eggs.
