Hello Dr Basu,

Thanks for your time and advice. A further update. Physio appointments have been left open - I can see him as and when I need to. It’s all at my own pace and he’s seeing me through until I’ve reached my full fitness. At the moment I’m still very limited although improving. Until the new year the only exercise apart from my stretching is pressing my head into a couple of hand towels - stretch and strengthen the trapezius muscle. It’s very relaxing and helpful. Aside from that. I’d say overall about a 30% improvement with pain. I can’t manage more than maybe 2kg lifting etc. I’m quite comfortable although still quite tight in my neck when I’m doing nothing/very little. I was in excrutiating pain before. I’m still quite chilly, if the cold air catches my neck I get pains, I’m constantly wearing a neck wrap (fleece) and colder than anyone else, still a bit chattery although not as much. there’s still the snapping sensation at times but minimal. Sleep is better - about 7 hours uninterrupted. I’m still sore rising from lying down. No new symptoms just the same as before. The tissue salts are far better than the meds, still just needing a bit of work. I have felt a little, physically stronger in my back - feeling more secure and wanting to be straighter but the muscles aren’t quite there yet. Physio doesn’t foresee any long term problems with me regaining my full strength and fitness, just a lot of work to make it happen. All going in the right direction. If you could advise further I would really appreciate it.

2.Kali Phos 6x 4 tab at night.for 10 says.
3.Mag phos 6x 4 tab after breakfast for 10 days.

Hello Dr Basu,

Thanks for getting back to me again. I was about to leave a further post and see if you were able to pick it up. There have been some further improvements. I’m not quite as bony as I have been in the chest area so health is improving. I’m not underweight anywhere else but I am lacking in a lot of muscle which also seems to be improving. I’m managing slightly better, feeling a bit stronger than my last post. I’m also really not liking the cold weather just now so hopefully better again in my next post. With the nerve inflammation and muscle spasms, they are still there, down my rib cage but less frequent and nerve pain improving also. It’s just a reminder for myself not to overdo it, with the odd snapping sensation in my neck - overall pain levels at this point is about 2/3 when it happens and still being careful.

Extremely grateful for your further prescription. I’ll start tonight and report back 2 weeks tomorrow.

Hello Dr Basu,

Writing this early as I’ve completed the 10 days and also in case I missed you last time possibly due to a time difference, I did report on the 15th day. I’m doing fairly well, nerve and muscle strength is improving although not completely better yet. I’m able to do more now with just little aggravations, with the nerve pain and snapping sensation in my neck - it’s much less intense and the snapping sensation is more like a ripple, much more subtle. I managed to change my bed (just an example) I timed it before one of my doses of Kali phos/mag phos and needed it afterwards, with just the sensation described above. A few times in bed I’ve woken up with the snapping sensation being more like a click, again still more subtle. Muscle strength is slowly improving, I’m probably on about 3/4 kg now and managing that ok. I will be contacting the physio in early jan for a further appointment to move things on a little. Still reluctant to walk any great distance, I have one leg shorter than the other so this is still an aggravation and probably a bit of reluctance/lack of confidence/worry on my part, although not completely as that does seem to be an aggravating factor also.

Sleeping is good, memory still isn’t great but I’m more aware of it whereas I wasn’t before, the pain was consuming.

I can also now lie on my back, I find lying the most comfortable position
and had hoped I could lie in bed and read but I’m tired still. I’ve had a few sniffly days but it hasn’t come to anything. I’ve been careful over the festive period. Didn’t over eat so as not to overload my digestive system, no alcohol and still prioritising, find if I have to dry my hair, use my arms a lot, then I’ll do less elsewhere. Just not completely better yet, although definitely getting there.

Temperature wise, I’m doing better, still wrapping up but there’s less dislike there. I’ve also noticed when I’m sitting, I’m more square. I’ve been sitting with my right leg crossed over, it was more comfortable on my back although probably counterproductive, adding to the poor posture. I’m now quite comfortable sitting with both feet on the floor when I can reach it.

With the original symptoms, fatty tissue etc. There is a little anxiety there. I was almost certain it was nothing sinister but the concern for me is that it’s not a healthy state and a breeding ground for something more sinister, again it’s being treated with the help of yourself so it’s only a little anxiety and I’m sure of the cure over time. I couldn’t get that out before, everything was all too sore. I had the flu last year which was horrendous, the GP said the majority of people she’s seen from last years have lingering symptoms and they don’t know why - the weakness and fatty tissue/muscle loss seems to be mine. It was horrendous last year. I’m managing to dodge it this year so far. I’ve also put on 1lb since starting treatment, I’m a healthy weight for my height and frame, except the chest area and muscle tone all over, it’s not a noticeable weight and thinking it may well be the start on muscle developing as nothing has changed in my clothing and slight improvement on strength

If there’s anything else I remember, I will let you know but quite an improvement from last time.

Hello Dr Basu,

I had diareah (pappy, not watery) which started later on after I posted to you. Got better yesterday and ok today, I’m still quite sniffly and haven’t slept much. I’m extremely hot in bed. I had to get up to let the bed cool down as I ran out of cool spots and profuse sweating in sleep. I don’t feel particularly ill, just tired. I’ll continue/edit this post with the follow up next week if I don’t hear anything further from yourself and continue with the given treatment.

I’ve decided to go and stay with some friends for a while to give me a better chance of recovering/ focus my attention better. Network isn’t reliable so it’s likely I’ll be offline until I’m back.
