Questions regarding homeopathy

I m a staunch believer of classical homeopathy. I have couple of questions to ask :
Q1: what is the concept of strong and weak medicine? For example if i took nux30 in water(strong med) thrice a day and from the next day put 7 drops of nux30 in 50 globules(weak med).. Shake the bottle and use it for the next two weeks and repeat the cycle.. Is that it or what?

Q2: What are the Standard remedy potencies along with information on how frequently to take the remedy?

Q3: Constitutional remedies?

Q4: How to choose a homeopathic remedy?
How to know if a remedy is working?

Q5: How to choose a homeopathic remedy?
How to know if a remedy is working?
Cancellation factors for remedies – how this happens.

I will be very grateful..

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
In a nut shell you are asking what homeopathy is all about, atleast pretty close :) Won't be easy to answer all of your questions in detail.

1) Direct doses are a bit strong. When you employ a split wet dose by diluting the medicine in a water bottle, you make the doses more dilute and gentle.

In potency terms medicine becomes strong with ascending potencies like 30c is stronger than 6c, 1M is powerful than 30c.

In material terms, the original medicinal substance or mother tincture or low dilutions upto 12c and 24x are stronger than higher potencies.

2) Standard potencies: 6x, 6c, 12c, 30c, 200c and 1M. There are a few more standard potencies but for a learner these are enough.

3) These are type medicines. Amongst medicines based on constitutional markers, people could be slotted into remedy types. For example Sulph. type is a philosopher, dirty not clean and tidy, lazy, lean with skin/circulatory problems. The idea is---constitutional medicines in high potencies will penetrate into constitutions and can help people with complaints that are not covered by a medicine's pathogenesis--this way the constitutional remedies will work for wide variety of ailments in a particular person whether the remedy is capable of curing the problem or not if taken in an isolated manner.

4) There are more than one strategy to choose a medicine. This is an exhaustive field of study and can't be covered in a few lines. But the gist is one needs to arrive at a most similar remedy that covers the disease(symptoms/complaints) as well as the person's idiosyncrasies.

5) One has to read authorities, good books and homeopathic literature to theoretically understand these things. To know practically, one has to explore this hands on. Gist of knowing how a remedy works is---1) Main complaints should show some positive change even if so subtle 2) The general state of the patient should lean towards positive factors like--appetite, mood, energy, sleep etc.

On Constitution:

Whitmont, Philip M Bailey, C. Coulter have following works respectively dealing with Constitutional aspects: Psyche and Substance, Homeopathic Psychology, Portraits of Homeopathic medicines.

On dosage:

It's difficult to come across a good book on this. Every practitioner will talk about the potencies they have good experience with. One needs to read many books to understand good dosage thumb rules.

Pathological prescribing would be done with low dilutions/potencies like Q, 6x, 6c and upto 30c. Constitutional would start with 200c and would go beyond. A good starting place for beginners is 30c.
