Joe De Livera - seeking your help again

Dear Sir,

I will try to break this mail into a couple of sections.

Last week I had posted about my 5month old's constipation and finally I had used Nux Vomica one dose and Bryonia. Nux Vomica helped him but since his cough symptoms matched Bryonia, I gave him some of that also. You had warned me against using Bryonia because it promotes constipation in adults. You are absolutely right, I used it for 2 days and my baby was constipated again. I used Nux one more time and now I am never going back to Bryonia. Thank you for helping me find out what was causing the constipation. I will always keep this in mind.

I have been reading the post on Arnica miracle and love every bit of it. When i first prepared the wet dose of Arnica, I had faith in you but not in the bottle because I just could not believe that 3 tiny pellets in so much water can me considered as a medicine! I have been sleeping well ever since and will continue taking it for the rest of my life.

The third part of my mail is about my elder son who is five and a half yr old. He is asthmatic. I have read your other posts where you helped children fight asthma. Can you pls tell me how I can help him? He always has stuffy runny nose and coughs all the time. He is exhausted when he runs and has shortness of breath. He has to take the inhaler and nebulizer to keep his lungs clear. Do you think he can ever get off these medications ever in life?

And the last part of the mail is about his appetite. He is under weight and very very thin. He does not have any appetite and never feels hungry. Is there any medication which can give him a better appetite? As a mother I feel frustrated seeing him suffer like this. If you can help me like you have helped so many others I will greatly appreciate it.

Thank you so much for all the help you offer on the forum to hundreds of us who needs help but dont know where to ask.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I did not prescribe Nux V for your baby with the Bryonia. I warned you against the Bry as I remembered that it usually causes constipation in adults and this as you have seen has held good for your baby also.

I have always prescribed Nat Phos 6x which you can dissolve and feed your baby in a little water which you can put into the feeding bottle. This is far safer than the Nux V for baby as it is possible that you may have to use at least 1 dose daily.

As for your 5 year old son you have already read the way I have been treating the 4 cases on the ABC with Nat Sulpn 6c in the wet dose and you can also commence this therapy which will hopefully give your son the relief that he must have without the Inhalers and the Nebulizers which he will not require from the first day that you use the Nat Sulph therapy.

I believe that the real reason why he is underweight is the fact that he is not getting sufficient oxygen into his lungs to satisfy the demand of his body for growth. You will hopefully see that he will soon get hungry and put on weight within a week after you start him off on the Nat Sulph 6c therapy.

Please report response on the Asthma thread

as it is best to keep all Asthma cases on it for future reference instead of my treating him on a new one.

Dear Joe,

You misunderstood me. I did not say that YOU prescribed Bryonia. I was the one who gave him that. YOU are the one who warned me against it and I meant to thank you in my post.

Regarding Nat Sulp 6c, Do I prepare the wet dose by inserting 3 pellets into 400ml bottle and then shaking it? I give him one teaspoon everyday? Do I give it at night?

Thank you so much for your guidance.

To Firefly alias Nineclouds

It would be appreciated if you will please post under just one nom d'plume as it only adds to my burden to decypher who is who when you post under two. You must remember that I handle about 10 cases daily on the ABC and have to be very careful to whom I prescribe what.

I am now dealing with 2 patients, your baby and your son and in order to avoid more complication it is best that you post their responses separately in the future on this thread so that I can concentrate on each.

Your Baby

I hope that you have replaced the Nux V and the Bryonia with the Nat Phos 6x. I would however warn you not to exceed the dose which should be kept below 1 tablet dissolved in water or milk and this should be stopped ASAP as I am not able to predict the long term effects of Nat Phos 6x on a growing baby. You should try to give him just half a tablet and watch for his response and if he seems OK you should keep it down to this level.

Your son (5.5 years)

You have read my instructions precisely and you can give a teaspoonful preferably after his dinner before he sleeps as Asthma is usually most prevalent in children at night when they wake up wheezing. Please report his response on the day after.

I am so sorry for the confusion. My husband had logged in to write something and I wrote under his id without checking it. No alias from now on. I will always write as nineclouds.

Thanks for the information, I will report progress in a week.

Before I was diagnosed as asthmatic, I suffered from cold and cough every year which would last for several weeks and would end up with bronchitis. However, in the last 2 years before the asthmatic attack when I was diagnosed as having asthma, I would have a daily bout of sneezing and running nose in the morning if on waking I walked on the floor with bare feet. Even putting my hands in running water made by nose run. The early morning cold air also made me sneeze or made my nose run. Subsequently, I was diagnosed as having asthma when about 10 years back I had a severe attack. Since then I have not had any attack though on a few rare occasions I have had to use the salbutamol inhaler when I felt that I was not getting enough oxygen in my lungs..generally when I had a cold. For the running nose and sneezing the doctor prescribed Betnesol and Cetrizine to be taken for a long time and I have not had these problems now for the last 5-6 years. I do not use perfumes as this is one of the triggers for the sneezing and running nose.

Now, I feel due to asthma I get totally out of breath if I run for even 1 minute or climb more than 2-3 floors . My sense of smell also seems to have been somewhat affected.

I am a female, 50 years old. I read in your posts that Nat Sulph 6C is to be taken. Would this medication be good for me? You have also given instructions of how to prepare it. After shaking the bottle, you have said that one needs to pour out 1 tsp in half a cup of water and sip 1 tsp once a day. Does one have to sip 1 tsp from the half cup or the entire half cup?
