surgery to remove fibroids in the breast

Hi iam a 29 year old female pregnant with my second kid. I had a surgery in my right breast to remove a fribroid. it was 7 years back and it was found benign. when i tried to breastfeed my first child i could not produce enough milk and the right produce lot less than the left breast.(left produced 4 ounces and right produced only 1 ounce)i have a hypothyroid condition. My first kid never gained enough weight iam thinking it could be bcoz of the low fat content in my milk. I tried fenugreek seeds and my milk supply increased but it was the same in my right breast. Iam due this april and i was wondering if there is anything which could help with the milk supply and the fat content in my milk. Iam taking synthroid 170mcg for my thyroid condition. I breastfed my first kid till she was 17 months old.

Hi, thanks for looking into my case.

Name: Neeraja
Age: 29
Marital status: Married
Profession: house wife
children: 1 and pregnant with another,
general temperment: very aggressive
sometimes short tempered
easily gets irritated with surroundings are dirty especially my home
emotional status: Iam extremely emotional and iam very attached to my husband and my 22 month old daughter.
Health condition: Mostly normal. I had sufferred from recurring colds and frequent constipation throughout my life. I stopped getting fever and colds very frequently after comming to america.
I suffered a lot with my sciatic problem for nearly 5 years and later got it treated by a psychic healer. its pretty much under control right now.
Due to constipation during my first pregnancy i suffered from pilesand it was very very painful. I started getting very constipated bcoz of my pregnancy again. I got a yeast infection in the month of March 2005 which started right before my periods and decreased after douching with fresh urine. I got another yeast infection in July and 2005 and i also got pregnant at the same time. I used monistat 3 days with little releif but, the infection came back and i went to a homeopath who suggested sepia. I have been using sepian from past 3 weeks. 10 drops everyday. symptoms have improved but, not totally gone. i still feel itchy and there is some white discharge going on. My hypothyroid condition was diagnosed which i was 15 years old when my mom felt something was not looking right with my throat. there was swelling on my neck and my eyes popped out and i gained weight which we thought was natural. I was always very very lean before that. I was told that i have hypothyroidism and asked to take eltroxin which started with 100 mcg per day and later increased to 200 mcg. when i came to america the endocronologist has decreased the dosage to 115 mcg. I was on 75mcg when i delivered my first child and 9 months after that my dosage was increased to 175 mcg. Iam still on the same dosage. as of now my hands and feet feel very cold most of the time and today i got to know that iam a bit anemic and i need to take iron supplements immediately. In year 2000 i found that i had a lump in my breast and it felt very hard. the doctor suggested a surgery to remove it. which we did but, never did i know that it would effect my milk supply in that particular breast.Initially i had very low supply of milk and my daughter never gained enough weight. iam concerned that it might be repeated again with my second kid. My family has a history of High blood pressure but, iam on the low blood pressure side most of the time. Recently my grandmother, my uncle and aunt have been diagnosed with diabetes (father's side) iam really concered about my health right now. especially my thyroid condition. Iam not sure if i helped you with this info or not.please let me know if you need to know anything specific

You could try relaxing a bit more and worrying less. Stress will impede your milk supply, as much as any illness. You have already birthed and nursed a fine child - this next one will be different but more than likely equally fine.

Iron supplements are normally required in any pregnancy - mothers should eat iron-rich foods. This is because your blood supply is doing the work for two people. (Well, one and a half!) Piles are also a common condition for pregnant women. The usual treatment - more fibre in the diet - will help.

Follow your doctor's advice for your hyperthyrpidism, and the other conditions you have developed during pregnancy. Clearly relocating to America has helped your health.

All the best for your next child!

just stick to a good diet, and as Zep Oz says avoid too much stress. Your last child did fine and I am sure this one will too. Consider remedies if/when you have a problem with milk production but not in case it may occur - after all it may not occur.
Your milk will be fine and very nutritious if you are well looked after yourself.
