cough in 28mo- trouble repping

My 28mo son is feeling miserable and making us insane. I cannot seem to rep his cough very well (I use miranda castro's handbook of homeopathy), and don't feel confident in my remedy choice. I hope someone can help.
He is 28mos.
Sleep was poor before the onset of the cough, better since. Cough has been present 3 days, it is episodic, not worse or better any particular time of day, is loose but 'sounds' high in the chest/throat, is unproductive and is distressing-he cries sometimes because it is a choking cough. His thirst is markedly decreased, appetite mildly decreased. He only seems to want to eat blueberries :-) He has copious and thick white nasal discharge. He had a fever last night and this morning and is generally uncomfortable and very very whiney and impossible to satisfy. He wants to be outside all of the time but is not happy when we go out. Bowel and urine habits are normal. I am a lay person and a lot of this says Puls to me but I dont' see it all....can anyone help clarify for me? Thank you so much!!
