Pytolacca Berry Q side-effects

About a month back, after searching 'llustrated guide' and numerous homoeopathic forum I recommended phytolacca Berry Q to a friend. Dosage 5 drops twice a day. Recently he had complained of increased phlegm, chest pain (upper left corner), dryness of mouth and general tiredness. He said that after stopping phytolacca berry Q his condition return to normal. He's quite obese and has hypertension. Hypertension is related to his obesity.

A quick search on side-effects of phytolacca found allergic reactions similar to the above but it is only reaction to phytolacca root and NOT the berry. Is this really an allergic reaction or is something else going on ?

Any light shed on this would be much appreciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Any remedy, be it in potencies or mother tincture form, taken for months together will start proving in those few who are susceptible to it. (not in every one.)

In your friend's case, I consider it as a blessing in disguise, as I feel he can be helped by Phytolacca Berry in potencies, since he is reacting to it.

Give a gap of few weeks, and come back.

We will persue the case together.

O.K. Sajjad

I would like to stand corrected, but please do tell me what are those mother tinctures, which will never cause provings, even if taken months together, for those who are susceptible to it?

If some mother tincture is not causing any reaction, for somebody, may be he is not susceptible to it, and it won't help him?

If some mother tincture is helping him ,say to control his blood pressure, for discussion sake,is it possible that the same mother tincture can be used for years together, without expecting any adverse reactions?

What are your experiences? Please share your views.

Dear gravimurthy,

My friend had stopped the phytolacca for about a month now and I had observed him as well as some of the symptoms he told me that he had. It seems that he was having angina even before the phytolacca and he seems to have small amount of phlegm in his throat from the way he had difficulty talking and the nasal nature of his words. After he had stopped the phytolacca berry Q he too had those symptoms on at least one other occasion that he mentioned it to me.

So I could perhaps assume that the allergic reaction of phytolacca Root that I found do not apply to the berry.

If phytolacca berry Q isn't a good remedy is there something better ? Could phytolacca Q be taken at higher potency such as 6x to reduce any possible effects or proving of the remedy ?

Thanks for whatever help. My friend's obesity seems to be a source of much of his distress at the moment.

In higher potencies use Phytolacca Decandra (Root).
