THROAT

Throat

Constrictive sensation in the pit of the throat, which causes a cough, as from Sulphur ^sulphur fumes,

Retching (constrictive) sensation in the middle of the throat as if there were a large morsel of food or a plug sticking there; felt more when not swallowing than when swallowing (in the evening), (after four hours),

Pressure in the throat,

Sticking low down in the throat when swallowing; it disappears on continuing to swallow and returns when not swallowing,

Sticking in the throat when not swallowing; when swallowing it seems as though one swallowed over a bone, causing a cracking (after three hours),

Sensation as though a plug were sticking in the throat, noticed when not swallowing,

Needlelike stitches low down in the throat in quick succession, when not swallowing,

Sore throat, the internal throat is painful as if raw and sore (after one hour and a half),

Pain in the throat as from soreness, only noticed when swallowing,

Sore throat; stitches which are not felt while swallowing,

Sore throat, like a lump in the throat, which is painfully sore when swallowing (after sixteen hours),

Sore throat

sticking in it when not swallowing, and even somewhat while swallowing; the more he swallows however the more it disappears; if he swallows anything solid, like bread, it seems as though the sticking entirely disappeared,

tearing pain in the larynx, much aggravated by swallowing, breathing, and coughing (after one hour and a half),

Tonsils.

Ignatia seems to have irritated the tonsils and salivary glands; there was increased turgescence of the former (second day),

Pharynx.

Crawling in the pharynx (after one and two hours),

Swallowing.

On eating, there was some difficulty in swallowing food or drink,

He was unable to swallow bread, it seemed too dry,

Food seems to reach as far up as the throat, in the evening before falling asleep, and in the morning (after two and fifteen hours),

After eating (dinner) it seems as though the food remained sticking above the cardiac orifice of the stomach, and could not go down into the stomach,

External Throat.

Tendency to swelling of the cervical glands, persisting after the proving,

Pain in the glands beneath the angles of the lower jaw, on motion of the throat (after eighteen hours),

The submaxillary glands are painful after walking in the open air,

Pain in the anterior submaxillary glands, as if they were externally compressed,

Drawing pain in the submaxillary glands, which extends into the jaws, after which the glands become swollen (after five hours),

Pressive pain in the cervical glands (submaxillary glands),

Pain, at first pressive, afterwards drawing, in the submaxillary glands (after four hours),

Sticking in one side of the throat, in the parotid gland, when not swallowing (after twenty hours),

Pain in the throat when touched, as if the glands were swollen,

Larynx

Scratching in the upper part of the larynx, as from heartburn (in the evening, after eight hours),

Uninterrupted provocation to a hacking cough in the larynx (not tickling), in the evening after lying down; it does not disappear on coughing, but only suppressing the cough (after five hours),

Voice.

Subdued, low voice; is unable to talk loud,

Cough and Expectoration.

Desire to cough, in the evening after lying down, on falling asleep (after six hours),

Very short, frequently very dry cough, the provocation to which is in the pit of the throat, as from inspired feathery dust, not relieved by coughing; but more excited the more he allows himself to cough; especially worse towards evening,

Hollow dry cough, in the morning on waking,

Difficult expectoration from the chest,

Yellow expectoration from the chest, of the odor and taste of old catarrh (after twelve hours),
