Very similar are Lachesis Laches., Naja Tripudia Naja and Elaps Corallinus Elaps.; distinctions, therefore, are mainly relative. Crotalus Cascavella Crotal. is preferable in fluid hemorrhages, yellow skin (hence in yellow fever with black vomit, etc.), epistaxis of diphtheria. Naja Tripudia Naja has more nervous phenomena. Lachesis Laches. has skin cold and clammy, rather than cold and dry; hemorrhages with charred straw sediment and more preferable in otorrhoea, and in affections of the right lung. The cobra-poison coagulates blood into long strings.
