Menispermum - General symptoms

GENERAL

General

Urine averages 30 oz. (before the proving).

34 oz. with white cloud near the bottom (second day).

32 oz., with white thready clouds floating through it (third day).

yellowish, about 30 oz. (fourth and fifth days).

yellow and cloudy (sixth day).

dark yellow, rather scanty (eighth day).

less dark (tenth day).

still yellow (twelfth day),.

GENERAL SYMPTOMS.

Objective.

Stretching and yawning, at noon (fourteenth day),

Stretching and yawning, with intense headache (after three hours, fifth day),

Languor, laziness, mental and physical (eighth day),

Subjective.

Aching-drawing pains in the muscles of the thighs, also in shoulder-joints and region of scapulae (sixth day),

The pains resembled those caused by taking large doses of Quinine, and relieved by a few doses of China ^China,

A remedy for megrim, associated with restlessness and dreams. Pain in spine. Dryness, itching all over. Dry mouth and throat.

Menispermum Canadense. Moonseed. Yellow Parilla. N. O. Menispermaceae. Tincture of root. Trituration of Menisperminum.

Clinical

Backache. Headache. Itching. Spine, pain in. Tongue, swelling of.

Characteristics

Very considerable doses were taken in the proving of Menispermum. The most notable symptom was an intense headache combined with aching all down the back. Yawning and stretching were also a marked and frequent concomitant of headache and backache. Meni. is botanically related to Cocculus Indicus ^Coccul., and the backache recalls the spinal action of the latter. But the Cocculus Indicus ^Coccul. vertigo and intoxication were not elicited. Dryness was a common feature-mouth, throat, skin. Itching was very intense, as with Cocculus Indicus ^Coccul. The Conditions were well marked agg. At night. agg. By warmth of bed. amel. Walking in open air.
