ABDOMEN

Eating

Afterwards I had a peculiar indescribable sensation in the region of the cardiac orifice of the stomach, especially after eating a hearty meal; there would be a coolish painful sensation, as if the parts were overdistended; this symptom lasted about a week,

Flatus

Frequent empty eructations, with slight rumbling in the bowels and occasional emissions of flatus (third day),

Rumbling noise in bowels, followed by flatulence (forty-fifth day),

Frequent discharge of stinking flatus, with uneasiness of the bowels, followed by loose stool, at 11 A.M. (ninth day),

Flatulence (fifth day),

Offensive flatulence, without pain, resembling cabbage-water (twenty-eighth day),

A good deal of flatulence (forty-fourth day),

Flatulence, with slight pains in bowels (fifty-third day),

Nausea

Uneasiness in epigastrium, with slight nausea, while walking or reading (after two hours, sixth day),

Vomiting

Griping pain in the bowels, with nausea, almost to vomiting; continued half an hour, in the evening (twelfth day),

Hypochondria

Woke at 6 A.M. with severe pain in the left hypochondriac region; continued half an hour (fifth day),

Pain in the left hypochondriac region, at 6 P.M. (seventh day),

About the middle of the day a pain in the left hypochondriac region (eleventh day),

Slight transient pains in the left hypochondrium (fourth day),

Pain in the left hypochondrium (sixth day),

Slight pains in the right hypochondrium (fifth day),

Pains in the hypochondria continuing all day; not so bad in the afternoon (ninth day),

Sticking pain in the right hypochondrium (after three hours, fourteenth day),

(Sometimes boring rheumatic pains in the hypochondria and chest, mostly in the limbs), (eighteenth day),

Whilst taking it, I had for two days an acute pain in the right hypochondriac region, especially on laughing or movement; the pain would be of a darting-sticking kind,

Umbilicus and Sides.

Great soreness and tenderness of the navel, as if ulcerated; can't bear my clothes (second day),

Cutting pain over the navel (eighteenth day),

Sore pain under the navel (eighteenth day),

Cutting pain in the bowels, above the navel, as if diarrhoea would come on (thirtieth day),

Excessively tender spot just under the navel when touched, felt in the evening, when going to bed (fifty-sixth day),

Very sharp sudden griping-drawing pain in the left side of the navel, causing me to cry out, at 9.30 (fourth day),

Severe colic pain in the left side of the abdomen, deep beneath the cartilage of the floating ribs, increased by deep inspiration and by lying on that side; came on at 4 P.M.; continued all night and to day; occasional eructations, which do not relieve the pain (tenth day),

Dull pressing pain on both sides of abdomen, about Poupart's ligament (soon after first dose, fourth day),

At 9 A.M. boring pain in or near the umbilicus, which lasted fifteen minutes (ninth day),

General Abdomen.

On awaking, in the morning, abdomen distended, followed by copious and loud flatulency; continued for twenty-four hours (first day),

Rumbling in the abdomen, with sickness of the stomach, in the evening (seventh day),

Rumbling and griping pain in the bowels, with copious flatulency (tenth day),

Rumbling in the bowels, followed by griping pain, in the morning (eleventh day),

Uneasy sensations in the bowels, noises, rumbling, feel cold (eighteenth day),

Rumbling sensation in the abdomen, accompanied by slight pain (seventh day),

Rumbling in the abdomen, after eating (fourteenth day),

Rumbling in the bowels (after ten minutes, eighth day),

Whilst in the open air, flatulent (third day),

Loud and copious flatulency (ninth day),

Violent griping pain in the bowels, causing perspiration with the diarrhoea (after five hours, second day),

Griping pain in the upper region of the abdomen, with dull aching pains in the frontal regions of the head (ninth day),

Pain in the bowels (thirteenth day),

Colic pains, not severe, on eating; very constant (fifteenth day),

Pain in the bowels, during the night (third night),

Uneasiness in bowels, as if he would have to go to stool before eating, at 7 A.M. (fifth day),

About half an hour after breakfast, uneasiness of the bowels, as if diarrhoea would come on (ninth day),

Sensation of goneness in the abdomen (eighth day),

Hypogastrium and Iliac Regions.

Rumbling in the lower parts of the bowels (after four hours, fourteenth day),

At 5 P.M. pain in right iliac region, as if a stone were in the inguinal canal,

Slight pain in the lower part of the bowels, cutting, with inclination to diarrhoea, at 9 o'clock (third day),

Severe pain at times in the hollow of iliac regions, as if one had been struck in the testicles (seventeenth day),

Pain in superior border of right ilium, lasting only a few minutes (third day),

Shooting pain in the crest of the left ilium, recurring several times at irregular intervals (after four hours, sixth day),

Pain in the region of the left ilium (after three hours, fourteenth day),

Stomach

Appetite and Thirst.

Not much appetite, ; (fifty-third day),

Slight appetite and speedy satiety (fifth day),

Slight appetite (seventh day),

But little appetite, with speedy satiety (twelfth day),

Loss of appetite, with desire to do several things at once, but no inclination to move and do one; resting all day (sixteenth day),

Thirst, with the headache (sixteenth night),

Thirst (eighteenth and thirty-ninth days),

Thirst, at night, with dirty taste in mouth (forty-fourth day),

Thirst, with the faceache (eleventh day),

Eructations.

Nausea and vomiting

Feeling of nausea, as if going to have a bilious attack, with inclination to diarrhoea (fifth day),
