He says there is a "sort of negative relation between the symptoms of Merc Viv Merc. sol., or rather between those of Nitric Acid Nit. ac. and the symptoms of Calc. This contrast has struck me several times, and it is the most remarkable for this reason, that Nitric Acid Nit. ac. is one of the best antidotes to Calc." Causation.

Complementary Aloe Socotrina Alo. (Sul. is generally the remedy when Aloe Socotrina Alo. has been abused as a purgative), Aconite Aco., Nux Vomica Nux, Pulsatilla Puls. (Sul. is the "chronic" of the last three. If a patient is sleepless Sul. may be given at night. If the patient sleeps well it is best given in the morning, as it may disturb sleep if given at night; Nux Vomica Nux may be given at night and Sul. in the morning when their complementary action is desired). Sul. complements Rhus Tox Rhus in paralysis. Follows and complements Antimonium Tartaricum Ant. t. and Ipecacuanha Ipec. in lung affections, especially left; atelectasis. An interpolated dose of Sul. helps Silicea Sil. in indurations. Psorinum Pso. complements Sul.; Psorinum Pso. loves heat, Sul. hates it. Teste includes in the Sul. group Crot. t., Merc Viv Merc. c., Bovista Bov., Aethusa Cynapium AEth, c., Kreosotum Kre., Lobelia Inflata Lob. i., Merc Viv Merc. sol., Asterias Rubens Aster., Cicuta Virosa Cic., Rat.
