CHEST

Chest

Occasional sensation of expansion of the chest while at rest, as if the chest was enlarged, and yet attended with a sensation of anxiety as in palpitation.

Tightness of the chest, as if it was internally contracted, with a sensation as if the air was very dry when inspired.

Pressive pinching on the chest, while sitting down, aggravated by inspiring.

Pressure deep in the chest, as from a load.

Tension and pressure across the upper part of the chest, in the morning when rising from bed.

Constriction of the chest, with anguish, in the evening.

Contractive pain in the chest under the right arm; when moving it becomes shooting.

Shooting in the chest and in the shoulder-joint, while respiring.

Tensive stitch in the sternum, constant while respiring.

Sudden sharp stabs, as from a knife, in the left side of the chest.

Sharp piercing pricks, as from needles, on the clavicle.

Burning stitches in the left side of the chest, more when expiring; while walking in the open air.

Stitches, as from a flea-bite, in the last true rib on the right side and in the first false rib on the left side.

Tearing cutting in the left side of the chest, while walking and standing.

Cutting pain in the right side of the chest.

Pinching cutting in the right ribs, when walking, merely on inspiring.

Pressure in the chest below the right nipple, in an outward direction.

Aching in the whole of the chest, especially above the scrobiculus cordis, worse when inspiring.

Bruised pain of the chest, both at rest and in motion.

Sore pain in the whole of the chest, from the throat down.

Burrowing pain in the chest, and descending thence into the abdomen, with a call to stool.

Drawing pressure on the united cartilages of the last ribs on the left side.

In the sacrum, intense formications.

Quivering twitches on the muscle of the false ribs.

Intense itching on the nipple.

Around armpit

Suddenly a long-continued startling stitch in the left side of the chest, a handbreadth below the axilla.

Drawing from the clavicles, extending into the left axilla.

Muscular twitching in the upper part of the chest, near the left axilla.

Respiration

Attack of asthma, short breath and anguish, in the evening.

The breathing becomes shorter in the evening, with anguish; he has for a long time to breathe hurriedly, until he can at last take a deep breath, when all is over.

Asthma and lack of breath on going up stairs and at the slightest motion.

Asthma, as if the clothes were too tight; he has to open them to breathe properly.

Tightness as from a load on the chest, he has often to take a deep breath; with sensation of great emptiness in the pit of the stomach.

Tightness in the chest, as if something rose up into the throat, which arrested the breathing.

When taking a deep breath, there is frequently a feeling of pleasing lightness.

Short, troublesome breathing, from weakness of the respiratory organs, with great emptiness of the chest, but without deficient of air.

Violent shooting in the chest and side, impeding respiration, for several forenoons; in the afternoon, the abdomen is distended.

Tensive stitch in the left side of the chest, constant while breathing, worst when stooping.

Tensive stitch in the right side of the chest, almost taking away his breath.

Repeated, cutting stitches darting up through the chest and out at the uppermost ribs, unaffected by the breathing.

Hiccup

Hiccup, soon after eating, during the customary smoke.

Repeated hiccups.

Occasional hiccups.
