GENERALITIES

Fatigue

Excessive fatigue after conversation.

Excessive relaxation of spirit and body, he cannot stay at one piece of work, he is irresistibly overcome by drowsiness and has to lie down and sleep, when he frequently wakes up from indifferent dreams.

Very weary and drowsy, so that he can hardly control himself.

Stretching the arms and yawning (aft. sever. m.).

Much yawning, while walking in the open air, but with tightness as from a hoop around the chest.

Much as he was incited to yawn, he could not finish yawning, even when he opened his mouth ever so widely.

Frequent yawning, as if he had not slept enough.

Drowsiness after a walk in the open air, caused especially by music, and when she closed the eyes, she had at once a vivid dream.

Drowsiness and inclination to yawn, his eyes close.

In the morning, on rising, the back and lower limbs ache as if bruised; she is weary, as if she had slept too little, as if her body had not rested enough; some hours after rising, this is somewhat relieved.

Sleep

Tendency to sleep during day.

Frequent yawning, with oppression of chest, as if it were encircled by a belt.

Sleep retarded.

Feeling, in morning, as after insufficient sleep.

Deep sleep.

Nocturnal agitation and many vivid dreams, anxious or lascivious.

Moaning, weeping (timid supplications), and plaintive lamentations, while sleeping.

Sleepy during day; goes to sleep late at night.

Restless, the child moans during sleep, or supplicates in a timid manner.

So weak on awaking, it puts her out of breath to dress.

Sleep and dreams

Slumber in the evening, impeded by constant restlessness in the legs.

Repeated starting up in bed, at night, as from fright.

Repeated waking up at night, as if he had done sleeping.

At one o'clock at night, after awaking, restlessness all over the body, with burrowing in the tibiae.

Deep sleep, for several nights.

(He talked in his sleep and decided as to the uselessness of an external remedy against an internal ailment, as if he were in a somnambulist state.).

The child moans at night, while asleep, it weeps, begs and entreats timidly.

Very vivid, anxious dreams, at night.

Anxious dreams of contention, quarrel and strife.

Confused dreams, which cannot be recalled.

Confused, vivid dreams in which many perverse things happen to her, and she at times talks aloud, tosses about in her bed, wakes up repeatedly, and every time finds herself sitting up in bed.

Vivid, confused dreams, only one half of which can be recalled.

Dreams of fire.

Lewd dreams, with emission of semen, without erection.

Quick in falling asleep in the evening after lying down, and late in waking up in the morning.

Dizzy in the morning on awaking from a deep sleep, as if he had not done sleeping.

Nausea and vomiting

Eructations bitter, after eating.

Nausea after eating, followed by vomiting of bile; or undigested food.

Vomiting of blood; of bile and mucus on awaking in morning of water when smelling cooking.

Eating and drinking

After eating 10, 16, 19. Warm drinks 27.

Nerves

Feels as if she would faint.

Paralysis mostly left-sided; feeling of a load in affected arm and corresponding side of chest; from emotions, spasms, or onanism.

Faint sensation after going down stairs, can go up well enough.

Trembling, worse from slow exercise.

Hysterical spasms, with pain in abdomen and in diaphragm.

Epilepsy with tossing of limbs, clenching thumbs, opisthotonos; unconsciousness; with sexual complications; during dentition, with symptoms of worms.

Temperature and weather

Open air 2, 4, 8.

Chill, Fever and Sweat.

Chill 10 A.M., finger-tips numb, or in the evening over the back; only on head, with thirst; slight, but with chattering teeth, as from convulsion of masseter muscles.

Heat from 4 to 5 P.M., with sweat.

Burning heat in limbs, mostly in hands, every evening.

Anxious heat, as if sweat would break out.

Thirst after the heat.

Sweat smells mouldy, musty; debilitating, night and morning, most profuse on neck; debilitating, from least movement.

Hectic fever.

Attacks

Every morning 3. Every evening 40. Gradual increase and decrease 3, 8, 17, 26.

Sides.

Right 18, 32. Left 3, 6, 28, 36. Above downward 31.

Contact, Injuries, etc.

Touch 17. Pressure 17, 19.

Generalities

Pressive and drawing pains, esp. in limbs, gradually becoming very violent, and decreasing in the same way.

Affections in general of l. chest; l. side; trachea and inner chest; upper part of chest; inner surface of thighs.

Consumption.

agg. After moving; lying on side; using the voice; from motion; when descending.

amel. When lying on back; from loosening garments; from walking (except weakness).

Attacks of epilepsy (in children during dentition), with retraction of thumbs, and tossing about of body; or else with throwing back of head, paleness of face, convulsive movements of hands and eyes, and loss of consciousness; the attacks come on sometimes in evening.

Excessive emaciation.

Pain as if paralysed in extremities.

Paralysis (of arms and legs).

Great heaviness and indolence.

Excessive dejection (weakness), and physical and moral depression, with trembling, esp. during gentle exercise (or when talking), and with disposition to perspire easily.

Profuse debilitating sweat, night and morning; hot, even on slight movement; with mouldy, putrid smell.

Nervous excitement.

Hysterical spasms, with pain in abdomen and in diaphragm.

Insupportable uneasiness in body.

The sufferings seem to disappear during a walk, with the exception of the depression, which is then excessive; they reappear as soon as the patient is at rest.

Extreme prostration; must sit or lie down continually.

Faintness in going down stairs; can go up without difficulty.

Pains commence lightly, increase gradually to a very high degree, and decrease again as slowly.

Shooting pinching, alternately, in various spots of the body.

Pressure with heaviness now in one bone, then in another.

Heaviness in all the limbs, weariness in the chest and alternately, violent anxieties.

Bruised pain in the limbs, and especially also above the sacrum.

Paralysis in the left arm and foot caused by fright; it passed off during the night.

After walking in the open air, internal heat, especially in the chest and abdomen, without thirst.

Many of the pains, especially those of the pressive-drawing kind, begin gently, slowly increase to a high degree, and then decrease just as slowly.

The ailments seem to disappear while walking; when at rest they at once return; only the weariness is most sensible while walking.

It causes emaciation and consumption.

Lack of strength, as if her lower limbs were bruised.

Excessive clumsiness; he continually wishes to sit or lie down, and on sitting down, he, as it were, sinks down upon the chair, because he lacks the strength necessary to do this slowly.

Great weariness, with constant inclination to sit down; while walking slowly, he feels this most, wherefore he involuntarily walks fast.

When moving quickly, he feels less his lack of strength, but the more so afterward.

Tremulous and unsteady all over the body and the limbs; but his hand trembles more when resting it lightly, than when grasping firmly.

Weariness all over the body, especially after going up stairs, for seven days.

Great weariness by day; he has to lie down, but cannot sleep, and whenever he fails into a slumber, he is seized with vertigo, abstraction of mind, and stupidity for half an hour.

Great weariness on coming down stairs, so that she can hardly breathe, she feels nothing when going up stairs.

(Real epilepsy) .

At night, on awaking, he is lying on his back, the right leg stretched out, the left drawn up and half bare.

At night, after awaking, jerks deep in the hand, drawing in an undulatory manner, seemingly in the nerves, so that he could have screamed aloud.
