homeopathy safety
Hi there im new to homeopathy ive just started taking clematis erecta 200c. Could someone please tell me what the c stands for and how safe this remedy is ? also can i overdose ? so far ive had 3 small tablets that ive placed under my tongue to melt the bottle is labelled clematis erecta 200 4gp pills. and its for an eye condition that someone here helped me out with. I think its working aswell.thanks for any advice.

C is a measure of the potency scale.
Don't take more than three doses in a row. Give a gap of one week atleast, review the case and don't repeat as long as amelioration continues.

Thankyou for you help davin may i ask if homeopathy can actually harm me though ? This condition does seem to improve slightly if i take 3 pillules at intervals throughout the day. Can i also ask about the medication i have now. the bottle as i said reads erecta 200 dgp pilluels, and the pills are just larger than the head of a pin. Does this mean the pills are 200c each or for the entire bottle ?? i could really do with some clarification

Homeopathic medicine has such a low concentration that you will be lucky to find a single molecule of active substance in your tablet/liquid. Therefore it is quite safe.

lazynewt, 200C is a very strong dose. You don't want to keep taking it. Are you under the care of a homeopath? If so, you want to follow his instructions very carefully.
Yes, there can be temporary harm if you take too high or too frequent a dose. It is called an aggravation. Usually you want to give the remedy a chance to work before taking any further doses. The period of action can be quite long.

I dislike the separation between allopathic doctors and homeopathic doctors. It's false, because all of both pretend to cure (with their medicines and with their knowledge). It's real that they get the curation better or worst, but they intend.
Saying allopathic doctors are skilled in diagnosis is (at less) as right as saying homeopathic doctor are skilled to value all the symptoms. Both propositions are true.
But if you say allopathic medicine is better than homeopathic medicine, your are not scientist, because you are only searching the scientific information, but you can't see all the curations have been made by Homeopathy. If you need examples, I can tell you about many patient who have come to my consult after a peregrination along the allopathic doctors, without obtaining a good diagnostic nor a minimal curation.
Finally, Scientist (if you doubt I can cure, I'm able to think you are not what you say), please, saying all things you have been saying in this forum last days, is infantil and reading suposses a great effort. Please, relax us and relax you in silence.

I have been reading the post of this person 'scientist' for past few days and was wondering why so many knowledgable persons who are taking trouble and giving free advice and doing good service are not responding.
Scientist what do you mean by real doctors? You are condemning Ayurveda as well as Homeopathy. If you mean only allopathy doctors are real doctors, then it is very disappointing. Allopathy medicines have so many side effects where as homeopathy medicines are gentle and at the same time very effective. I think you are ignorant and have no practical experience. I have been using homeopathy medicines since my childhood and I am proud of the fact that I have strong immune system because I have not taken allopathy medicines which corrupt your body.I think before discarding any thing one should have proper knowledge.

Thanks for the replies i value everyone opinions and input. I was not fully aware of homeopathy until i came to this site and now understand it alot more. Thankyou daisy for letting me know this is a high dose, regardless of the concentration i am still greatfull for your warnings. Scientist i thankyou for your input aswell as i like to base my own opinion on as much information i can get be it possative or negative. I understand where both sides of this argument my post has created come from. I agree in part with both i must say. I do however think that you will all agree on one thing ( if it cures me its a good thing)
I have seen a 'real' doctor about my case and after being miss diagnosed multiple times have decided to branch out and try alternative cures. I dont care if homeopathy is fake reall whatever, i dont care if someone gives me a placebo and due to me believing in it so much my problem is resolved. I appreciate everyones views and beliefs and like i said as long as i can find a cure for this problem i will listen to whoever may advise me. thanks very much to you all :)
