Immunotherapy (allergy shots)

My 10 year old daughter tested positive for allergies to dustmites, mixed tree pollen, ragweed, mixed weeds, cat, and dog. Controlling dust in our house has helped a lot. However, we have a cat and a dog and she cries at the idea of getting rid of them.
We live near a busy road in a Chicago suburb with a dirt crawl space. I have changed her to a healthier diet. The doctor recommended allergy shots but I have heard mixed opinions on that. He said that the shots would help to prevent allergy induced asthma. The doctor also said that with her having so many allergies at such a young age, she would have a good chance of developing asthma. I don't want to be neglectful in not giving her shots yet I don't know if they'll help or hurt her. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about these allergy shots?

Hi! I would just like to share. I also had for myself an allergy test done for chronic asthma and severe eczema. I am 36 now. My allergies are similar to your childs. I see so many patients visiting the doc. Seeing i have also started immunotherapy. it includes 50 shots and so far i have taken only 7. Results show up aroung 25 shots. So I cannot comment. my son also has allergies so i wanted to try on myself first before putting him test.

I will inform as i get any resluts.

Dear Homeschoolmom:
Allergy shots have advantages and disadvantages. They are easy, confortable and no need attention for the patient. As well they can produce adverse reactions and in other cases may leave the case as same as the starting point.
In my opinion, Homeopathy can help to your daughter (and to you, of course). With a simple treatment, simple but long in the time, your daughter can ameliorate her allergic response and bit a bit, her reaction will have more effectiveness and her organism never will suffer an adverse reaction nor develope other kind of illness related.
In some cases, only two remedies will be necessary; in other cases, perhaps some kind of allergic preparates (polen, cat hair...) may be necessary.
Please, consult to your homeopath and he will be able to explain all the posibilities and hoeopathic capacities.
If you don't find another answer, please, feel free to ask.
Best regards
Andrés
